“He could have played a pile of football,” Miles said of Peterson. “Would love to have seen him play more. Stuff he was capable of doing, he just at times didn’t understand at what level we play.”

Why doesn't he come out and say this to this level of specificity about other players?

Most people understand that lack of playing time usually has reasons, but we never hear about them. Anyway, maybe this level of honesty would be more welcome by the rant?

As far as I remember it, we'd played at the level of 112 out of 120 teams in terms of offense. Playing DP more couldn't have hurt the offense.

That's the way it has to be.

Wow, how are you not a D1 coach yet since you know what could have hurt the team or not hurt the team

Yes, because you have to be a D1 coach to know the offense sucked this year and never got better.

Translation: There was a want to get him on the field. We just didn't.

WTF does this even mean?

FWIW, from what little we saw of DeAngelo Peterson
this year, he didn't look too bad.

Ok, I freely confess I have no clue what Miles i ssaying here about DP and why he didn't play.
I'm assuming he's referring to a lack of consistency in effort, but I really cannot tell.
Can somebody tell me what he's saying? (poster pauses , awaiting reasonably anticipated abuse for asking a quesiton on the Rant)...

Is it not the coaching staff's responsibility to get them ready.

Was DP playing too well???

Miles must have had to pull him aside and tell him "we don't have the want to play like a championship team, play at the same level as the rest of the offense, less than mediocre dammint...your making the rest of your teamates look bad....quit getting open so darn much and catching everything thrown your way."

This is another rediculous statement by a less than smart individual who doesn't know......

WHAT LEVEL WE WANT HIM TO CAICH AT!!!!!!!!

You know, I've read a number of your posts and I just have to ask: were you born such a douche? Or have you had to work hard your whole life to achieve such a level of douchiness?

You know, some of us aren't hanging off of Les Miles' nutsack, ok? Deal with it.

You are a fricking moron. They guy caught what 4 or 5 passes. The level miles is talking about is his ability to run routes AND block. Dickson edwards and joseph were better blockers. Works on blocking and he will play a pile of football. Along with dickson being gone he will get more pt. The guy can catch we all know that, but he has to block if he wants to be on the field a lot.

Not playing Shepard and Peterson more this season for whatever reason, Miles was cutting off his nose despite his face. Simple as that. The two players demonstrated in games they were huge playmakers. Next!!!

Maybe he doesn't want to tell ouR sometimes horrible fanbase that a player is to stupid to understand the playbook at the moment or just doesn't have it yet.

Being embarrassed in the media could be really bad for a young player and not helpful at all for their player development.
