So why all of a sudden is this a huge topic at LSU?

All started last year when Harbaugh went into Bama and Georgia territory hosting camps. The SEC powers that be were up in arms and asked NCAA to ban the camps. Camps were banned and then overturned. All schools are now doing these camps and Les announced his schedule yesterday.

What are satellite camps? And why should I care about them? And why should I care who coaches them? And what does all of this mean?

It's really all about the kids, but colleges benefit as well. For example, there's a camp at Samford with 30+ colleges being represented. So if you're a parent, you can' pay $30-50 and have your kid seen by a lot of coaches instead of $150+ to have one college see your kid at their camp.

because now everyone has to keep up with everyone else. If Michigan and Alabama are holding camps everywhere, you have to too.

It's mostly about branding. Getting your name out there to these kids.

I'm interested to see if any kids actually get exposure from this.
