I must be seeing things, but all I have seen on here lately are a bunch of Nega-tiger posts.

There was a thread about a bleacher report article that stated this. I wasn't serious.

enjoy your mirage while you can. controversy is the LSU fans middle name. we are like bitchy women; we gossip, we complain about everything and we make shite up if there is not enough real stuff to create the sufficient amount of drama. i swore off this site several times but for some inexplicable reason I JUST CAN'T STAY AWAY. if there was a TD Anonymous organization it might help.

Yeah... it's far better to treat your coach like a god and erect a statue in his honor. What can go wrong?

I rather LSU's style. We've never had an NC winning coach that we didn't learn to hate. We even took one of them back after hating on him for years.

We're fickle, but we're not a bunch of dumb drones. At least a lot of us aren't.

Speak for yourself.

A HC is human and will therefore make mistakes, at lease make decisions I that I see as a mistake, but when you winning since 05 at the highest rate in SEC/BCS football, I'm going to back your play....mistake maker or not.

I prefer the common sense approach.

Step 1 (the part so many people on this particular board seem to have trouble making) is to accept the obvious reality that whether I gush about how awesome everything is like the biggest sunshine pumper ever or bitch incessantly about everything like the biggest nega-tiger ever, the outcome for the team is going to be exactly the same. My attitude is *entirely* irrelevant to how well the season will go.

Step 2 is to realize that the only people my attitude can affect are me and the people I talk to. So the only rational consideration in deciding my attitude is how it will affect those people, and how important those people are to me.

Step 3 is to understand that bitching, whining, complaining and being generally negative will have a negative impact on my mood (being a person of reasonably good mental health), and a less significant negative impact on the mood of those around me who are also LSU fans.

Step 4 is to decide whether I would rather have an attitude that has no impact on the team that makes me and my fellow LSU friends feel better, or an attitude that has no impact on the team that makes me and my fellow LSU friends feel worse.

Some people obviously choose the wrong answer in step 4 because they believe that making other people feel worse will make them feel better. They are mistaken, of course, but they also lack the ability to perceive that mistake because of the emotional issues that lead them to feeling better by making other people feel worse. Thankfully, among my many quirks and issues, I do not suffer that tragic flaw. So for me, the attitude decision is an easy one: I take every opportunity to see something good for LSU!

That's how the PSU admin felt too. Loyalty is great until it becomes blind. Les is responsible for more than just winning... and so far he's done well at all of it. I hope he keeps it up.

But no statues please. Maybe a talking action figure would be the way to go. Think of the fun you could have with that.

The statue thing to me has always seemed silly because there's such an obvious solution/fix for it, just like the building rule (at least at LSU, as far as I know): no statues until they are dead. Once they're gone, and a reasonable little bit of time has passed for any skeletons to emerge post-mortem, then you can build all the statues you want to them. Until then, hey, what's the rush?

Statues to Cholly Mac, Pete Maravich, Bear Bryant, Knute Rockne, etc., would be no problem. And it would be just as respectful now as it would have been to put them up when they were alive. It's not like anybody's slighted by not getting see their statue with their own eyes. What are these, pharaohs and Roman emperors?

That's the point.

It would be interesting to start the debate on what the sculptor would have Les' statue doing. It would keep things going for years.

And I doubt that Les would give a hoot one way or another.

Well, till Les covers up child abuse or starts banging a 25 yr old who works in his office, I'll be loyal to the guy who has given me, as a fan, the best 7 yr period in LSU football history.

How bout one of those doll like jobbies that we can put on our dash of our cars?

Hey, I like the guy as both a coach and a man, but I'll kick him out the door in a heart beat if its called for...right now, I'm one pleased LSU fan 1-9 or not.

Les has of course pissed me off at times. But PSU pretty much put that in perspective/
As for Mett, we should tell everyone over and over thatje can't throw the short pass.

I've come to realize that Les is here for the long haul and have learned to not believe a word he says to the media. As long as he wins and is a good human being, which he seems to be, I'm for him. He can laugh at himself , which typifies us in South Louisiana, which our previous Coach is too stuck on himself to do.
Oh, and Mett can't throw the short pass.

I will never understand the miles bashing.

What's hard to understand ... Miles has had a lifetime's worth of "questionable" decisions. He's got my support, but I just hope the "bad Miles" doesn't make an appearance at an inopportune time (it's always in the back of my mind).

Since the guy leads BCS and SEC football in wins since 05, I'm hoping Coach keeping making all those "lifetime's worth of "questionable" decisions" for a longggggggggg time to come.
