I just noticed they have almost identical winning percentages at the moment... at LSU and Michigan, respectively. I'm not counting Miami U. and Oklahoma St.

Miles has won 79.53%.

Schembechler won 79.55%

This is why Bo lived in the shadow of Woody Hayes.

The administration will never admit it but UM not seriously pursuing Miles for the HC position in the past may go down as one of the biggest missteps that program has ever made.

UM seriously pursued Miles at least once. It was torpedoed from within, though.

I don't agree here.. To be fair Miles came to LSU AFTER Saban put it back on the map... He has just had to keep the cupboard full which he can at LSU... I ASSURE you he would NOt get the type of players at UM as he has gotten at LSU......

Agreed on the player part. But I do think with the players he would get that he would have them more competitive than the current and last HC and would have galvanized the fan base. Inner politics did not let them seriously pursue him. Just a dog and pony show toward the masses while the inner factions said NO WAY!!!

I would like somebody to finally clear this shite up for me. I have heard they offered him and he turned them down, I have heard that some wanted to offer him but others with more stroke didn't want him, and I have heard that he was never in consideration, and this goes for both times UM was looking for a coach.

Does anybody really know WTF happened?

Being competitive is what VANDY is striving for....

At MICHIGAN its all about WINNING... And getting the same type of players he has been getting down here AND developing them is MUCH harder up there...........

TBH, I don't think Michigan wants the kind of players he has been getting here.

I think the only reason they didn't seriously pursue him twice was because of how clear he made it that he wasn't going anywhere. Had he wanted to jump ship either time, he easily could have.

Bo vs Woody
Miles vs Saban

And Peej Miles would be successful at Michigan. He wouldn't win a NC or anything, but he would have then challenging for the B1G title
