For the first time in a long time you can look in the Top 25 poll and not see names like Texas, Penn State, Notre Dame, and Georgia...all of these teams having bad seasons, some horrific. While all ranked consistantly high year in and year out in recruiting, all have the same issue as LSU the last couple of seasons which is inexperienced, young QB's.

One thing you can say about Les Miles over the last couple of years, is even though he's faced this problem, and is even still facing the problem of not having an SEC qualified QB, he's never imploded going 8-4 and 9-3 and has always remained a Top 25 team year in and year out.

That doesn't make him better than any of those guys. With the exception of Paterno who is too old to hire now, I think the majority of the fan base would prefer any of these coaches to Miles currently.

I don't think we were ranked in '08.

Are QB's are a Junior and RS Junior and have played in many games.

Screwing the pooch at Ole Miss and against UT is pretty much imploding. That's why everyone is making fun of him now.

Brian Kelly is the only one I would MAYBE want over Miles.

well clearly you can throw out career numbers and talk about 5 games. in which case Miles is the greatest of all time

what point would that be? We are ranked "hypothetically" while those other teams aren't....before the BCS HAS EVEN COME OUT?????????

Lets not look at the season either. I mean lots of seasons end after 5 weeks.

Just because our fans would prefer the other guys doesn't make them better.

Mack Brown has been a figurehead for years...

With all the talent coming from HS Football in Texas, he doesnt have to do jack shite to convince kids to go to UT; most of them want to go and play there as is.

genius of him to not take the field goal at the end o the half vs Michigan only to go on and lose by 2.

I wouldn't bet on any of those guys to be able to win the SEC either.

Mack Brown elevated UT from mediocre to a powerhouse again. He took UNC from a terrible, terrible program to an 11 win season.

He's the most consistent coach over the last decade or so. you pretty much KNOW that they're going to win 10 games a year at least.

but yea, he doesn't do anything

I agree, and if Colt McCoy plays in that MNC against Bama last year they have a great chance of beating Bama because of how they shutdown McElroy! Brown should have shot him up and let him play, that kid worked hard to get to the biggest game of his life, and you don't play him-wtf?

Id take Kelly over Miles in a hearbeat...

Paterno...meh...past his prime...
same for Richt...although he is a hell of a OC
Brown id take...but he has all kinds of advantages with the recruiting in TX...he should be on top...if not...something aint right...

How about we take a look at the ranking of these teams after the season and see if Miles is still better than all of them

Do you think LSU beats Oklahoma this year?

There goes Brown.

Do you think Notre Dame's talent level is anywhere near LSU's?

There goes Kelly.
