"Pup" is a common colloquialism used by a lot of people (myself included) to refer to a person/thing that is young (see "kid" or "baby"). I'm well aware that young tiger is called a "cub."

Douche.

Will definitely have to go visit this guy soon. When I was a student I'd walk past the last Mike's cage at least 3 times a week heading back from class. I'd usually hang out for a few minutes. Over time he'd definitely recognize me and would follow me around staring at me. Probably thought I'd try to invade his turf or something. It was pretty cool though. One time I was standing at the glass where his pond is and he swam to me stared me in the face then turned around and shat some kind of white stuff at me. I was very glad it was glass and not just the netting at that time. Csb

According to an article in The Advocate, Mike is currently at 200 lbs. He should top out around 600 lbs. Figure a cat that big being that fast chasing you.

Brought my 3 year old daughter out there this evening. He followed her everywhere and she finally got him to jump in the water like she wanted. He pawed at the glass and "played" with her for quite a while. It was really cool to watch and she loves every second. Thank you Mike for making a little girl's and her daddy's day
