Midweek games are used to develop a 4th starter, as well as getting weekEND guys an inning here and there.

It is up to hitters to be better than in state pitchers, and they aren't. PERIOD.

Don't worry. I'm sure we have another former player from the 2009 team that Paul can get to help the team.

This is the first year that's even remotely a thing at LSU in a long time. Let's not make it out be some normal thing with Paul. We won't get a national seed if we keep losing these games. Frankly this team isn't good enough to get a national seed anyway

We haven't had a true 4th starter in some time

I think I'm going to start following spring football to take my mind off of the baseball team.

Hess is developing into the 4th starter....the thing everyone wanted mainieri to develop. 4th starters dont typically have ERAs under 3

Seems like when Robertson hits well, everyone hits well (Georgia series). When he is in a slump, they don't (FLA series). It sucks to lose these games and my confidence in this season is steadily dropping but I'd much rather them slump offensively right now than in May/June. As bad as the hitting seems to be, aren't we still 2nd in the SEC? This team has the capability to hit well, they just aren't right now. Hopefully they'll find a groove and hopefully they don't drop too many games before then to keep from hosting. Time will tell.

I have hope every year that the fanbase would start to realize how long of a season it is, and how many ups and downs there will be. But i guess its time to give up on that.

And with the recruiting power LSU has, you would think it would be no problem to find a 4th guy.

Calm down. You have a sample size of 2

Its much more likely we aren't as good as we thought and our hitting coach sucks. Its ok to admit thise 2 things and still be a great LSU fan

I think he deff has the stuff to claim the spot. Guess we will see how he continues to develop.

Just not a "good" 4th starter.

The typical fan expects 48-8 heading into SEC tournament play but that's just not realistic in today's game with the amount of parody.

The fact that this team isn't clicking on all cylinders in March does not have me worried. If they don't get a hot streak by the end of May then I'll be worried.

Everyone was on him to develop starting pitchers after last year. Thats what he is doing with walker and hess. And now the fanbase is mad at him for sticking with them

Name a team with a better 4th starter than Hess. Hess isn't great I get that but if we ever get to the point where LSU needs a 4th starter I'll take him over whoever the 4th starter is on the other team.
