18. Jordan Mickey, LSU — One of the better — and undersold —two-way big-men in the country. Mickey is averaging 17 points and nearly 11 rebounds per game, while also offering serious rim protection with 3.7 blocks per contest

if Mickey is 18, Martin aint to far behind.

Would be a sad day when LSU has 2 of the 50 best players in college basketball, and we fail to make the tournament.

It should be a two-man race between he and Portis of Ark for SEC player of the year. No one else is putting up better overall numbers than those two. Mickey is 3rd in scoring; 2nd in rebounding and 1st in blocks. Portis is ahead in scoring but behind in rebounds and blocks. Sadly the media is lazy and will just vote for the perceived best player on Kentucky's team. In this case probably Cauley-Stein who, while a good player, has numbers that don't come close to Mickey's

Mickey:

17.0 ppg
10.8 rpg
3.7 bpg (2nd place is 2.3)

WCS

9.2 ppg
6.3 rpg
1.6 bpg

It's a shame, but if LSU was having a slightly better season those numbers should put him in strong consideration for National POY

Might have something to do with playing 10 more minutes/game.

That being said, Towns deserves it over WCS.
