Congrats to Micah...easily a top 5 tiger all time for me! Not to mention the best LSU catcher that I have ever had the pleasure of seeing play!

Thanks for everything Gibbs, you will always be remembered as one of the greatest catchers at LSU and helped us to another NC.

You raised a great son and I hope he has a great career in the MLB.

Going to miss him...

Micah's Dad,

We are equally proud of Micah and we share in your joy with him realizing his professional dream. He is a class act and now playing for my favorite professional baseball team, the Cubs. We wish him continued success and I can't wait to see him in the Big Leagues. Hopefully, he, Todd Glaesmann and Ryan Gebhart (all Austin Slam alumni) will meet some day on a major league field.

Thanks for sharing your son with LSU. We loved watching him in Baton Rouge and Omaha. May he and you always be Tigers.

Let me personally tell you what a great baseball player you have raised and maybe an even greater person. My son (who is now 13) and I make a trip from Lafayette to Baton Rouge to catch an LSU baseball game and get the baseball cards they hand out at the games autographed by the players. Your son has always been nothing short of a class act (win or lose). He not only signs whatever put in front of him, but looks up and takes time to talk and interact with everyone. He will always be one of our favorite Tigers of all time...not only for his play on the field but the little moments we shared with him after games.

I am glad that you mention this. When Micah was around 8 yrs old, we went to a game in which one of his favorite players (not going to mention names) was playing in. After the game he wanted his autograph. I had Micah on my shoulders and the player was walking right towards us and then right by us while Micah was asking for his autograph. I remind Micah from time to time about how he felt that night and not to let another young man have those same feelings.

Thank you for the kind words, but most of all, for raising such a wonderful Tiger. Micah's one of my favorite players to watch, not only a great catcher, but a great kid, too. Send him my thanks for all the thrills, and wish him the best for me.

Micah is a class act which means that you are also a class act. Thanks for raising such a fine son and welcome to the Tiger nation. I will pull for the Cubs or any team that Micah or former Tigers play for.

WOW! What a phenominal post! He'll go down as one of the greatest Tigers ever!

Class act and a great player. You can't ask for much more than that. If it tells you anything, my 12 yr old "acts like he is Micah Gibbs" when he is playing baseball in the yard! Thanks to him for being a great Tiger and thanks to you for sharing him with us...FOREVER LSU!!!!

Have you done that lately?

The only way he'll get the true feeling of how it felt that night is to get him on your shoulders again.
