first of all, he shouldn't. it will be the same offense j lee ran the first 8 weeks of the year. 70/30 run with our 4 rbs. 11 to 15 passes a game. i wouldn't expect mett to throw it more than 20 times until at least bama.

which is exactly what he should do. and let mett grow into the sec. the next year, he will probably open it up a little more.

it's hilarious to me that everyone loved this offensive philosophy for 13 games, until we didn't execute in the nc and now everyone wants 5 wide slinging it all around.

There are certainly a lot of factors. The raw talent is absolutely there. Zach has to continue to improve... reads, progressions, controlling the line of scrimmage. The coaches have to make sure they're doing the things they need to do to help him get better. And, as you mentioned it, there needs to be some chances taken downfield.

This team is built a lot like those early 90s Cowboys teams. Downhill, possession running attack, but with a quarterback and receivers who can stretch the field enough to keep that 8th man out of the box.

We know Les hates white QB. Randall will be starting by the second game.

Mett moved to TE. JR is the new QB and LSU will be running the triple option modeled after Georgia Southern. Les said he has a want to rush the ball and a damn strong want to beat Bama.

While you are correct about the fact that SOMEONE runs the Off. Whether it be CLM or the OC upstairs, once a pass play is called... its out of thier hands.
Its up to the QB then....
It wasnt CLM's or the OC's fault during the NC game that during pass plays, WR were open in the middle of the field and JJ didnt throw it to them.. thats on the person playing the QB position and his ability to read coverages and progress through his check downs.
So, while the coaches do control the number of pass plays called, its up to the QB to execute them.....
