His first bomb to Landry while scrambling and his first TD bomb were things of beauty. The first INT was kind of bad, but it was also an amazing play by the DB. I think he will be a good one. He may not set the world on fire, but he doesn't have to. He just has to be competent and he has that and then some.

Yeah, he is going to get a lot of good reps against a really good and agressive defense which will help him in the long run. And this team has been begging for just a competent qb for years. If he can be slightly about average he will light the world on fire with this roster.

The HUGE thing to me is (beside how competent he looks already), the players all seem to love him and are excited about the LSU quarterback position again. Plus no quarterback controversy, thus no backbiting/bickering amongst our players and fans. The team will be unified in that regard, and that is a scary good thing for a team with this much talent ! It's been a LONG time coming guys ! I for one CANNOT wait.

Ryan Perrilloux? I wish he would not have gotten into shite and had come after or before Flynn. No I do not think he should have started over Flynn, but damn that dude had a laser arm and could actually run an option. Would have been great to see him live up to his hype in purple and gold.

He had a very realistic chance to win a heisman. It sucks to think about what could have been.

I agree completely, but I just hope (and pray) that I'm not sitting back next season saying "we have the QB now, why are we running the same running plays to the short side of the field all game long? Even if we're losing in the 4th quarter."

Well jamarcus did have 28 tds and 8 ints his last year so I will take some of that and be happy with mett.

I try not to judge coaches too harshly because they have access to the players and countless hours of preparation and film study that we as fans just aren't able to see. Also their job security is based on performance so you know they will try and do their best. But with that being said, no one can convince me that what I saw these past few years is just straight stubborn as a mule hard headiness! Besides we blew out several teams, why not give him a shot on a few series? Maybe he didn't want anyone to have film on him yet, but they are going to get film on him against the juggernaut North Texas!

I think saying he will be the best qb we have had in twenty years is a tad premature figuring he has had zero significant snaps in SEC football. I mean I am not saying he is good, but jesus. There is no way he can live up to the hype that is being placed on him. I mean shite he could win us a title and not fulfill some of these lofty expectations. I think he should have been the qb last year honestly. At least enough games to have him ready to go. It was obvious for a long time neither JJ or JL were capable.
