If we wouldn't have fouled the best free throw shooter in the history of UGA basketball, we might have won

That was a ticky tack call to begin with. Not saying there was no foul, but call could have gone either way, and those calls usually don't get called with 1.6 seconds remaining.

Kid got his shot off, if it goes in, he wins. If it doesn't, his team loses. No need to let free throws decide the game on a borderline foul call in the closing seconds.

It will be another 4-5 years before we will have even the possibility of a decent men's basketball program. What a damn shame !
FIFY

Alleva probably won't alleviate this problem.

i disagree. There's nothing worse than a ref who is afraid to make foul call at the end. If it was a foul you call it like you would at any point in the game

If he was as sure it was a foul as you seem to be, then it was the right call. He had a better vantage point than I did watching on TV, but to me it looked like one of those involving a tiny guard penetrating against a big man where it's easy to call a foul even if none were committed just based on the size of each player.

On TV, I didn't see anything I would have said was a definite foul. Again though, he had the better vantage point so I can only hope he saw something I didn't.

Dale Brown would gladly go, his loyalty is from the heart. I'd be in a foxhole with Dale any day.

Collins on the other hand, typical "with you when you're up, don't know you when you're down" sort of guy in my opinion.

I realize Collis did some good for the program back in the day but he's more than been paid back I'd guess.

I would not want Collis anywhere near my foxhole. I think he's held LSU hostage long enough.

I know it's been said a couple times differently already, so apologies for saying it with my own twist...

This is horrible. Attendance, pressers, public opinion... It reminds me similarly of the Miles situation in a way- that we know he's a good guy. I'm in no way saying he should get another year, but put this man out of his misery. Situations like this should never become so unbearably humiliating.

I get it, that they're going to let him finish the season, but at this point is that even the right thing to do? I'm reminded of Ol Yeller. We know it's coming, so let's just put him down to cease the suffering so we can cry (or not) and get ourselves another suitable loyal hound to take his place.

Part of me feels sorry for Johnny.
If you can't coach you better hire a decent staff and let them do their jobs.

Brings back memories of Dinardo. I always defended the guy and then after he was fired he admitted that he refused to hire a proven offensive coordinator, and instead handed the job to mediocre WR Coach. Excuse: He would have been forced to learn a new offence.
On second thought, that was Miles excuse also.

Maybe Coach O learned his lesson at Ole Miss and we will reap the rewards.

a definite foul

yea there was really a foul. The big foul was committed by the LSU offense: playing out of control, putting up errant shots, lack of patience, all which lead back to miserable coaching

How about just leave them both out of the next hiring process?

Nice to see that Chanel 9's microphone was in attendance. I guess they sent it just in case JJ resigned.
