This is just dumb. He had 27 tds to 5 ints last year with a garbage coaching staff. That’s literally the second best TD-INT ration in school history.
I think much of this was due to the receivers as much as Max. He had a lot of TDs early in the season where players just out-jumped the DB on an underthrown ball. He would throw a nice ball and then follow it up with crap. He has one of the worst deep balls I've seen from a P5 QB.

Haynes King (11-of-33, 130 yards, 21-yard rushing TD), Max Johnson (13-31, 117 yards, 2 TD) and Conner Weigman (7-19, 116 yards, 1 TD)
Either they all aren't what the aggies thought or their defensive backfield is scary good

Convenient that you left out his multiple TD passes plus about 120 yards rushing on 2 plays in the first five minutes of me watching this film.
Rushing stats? Seriously?
If Max turned in those kinds of passing numbers in LSU’s Spring Game you and your kind would be the 1st ones bitching.
13 of 31 for 117 yards is terrible. You know it.

From their own 247 threads on the game, even walk ons were covering their scholarship receivers with ease. Just not a lot of separation supposedly.
The defensive players had 22 total passes defensed out of 84 total which is pretty high. They completed 31 total passes, so 31 completions to 22 broken up/picked off is a pretty terrible ratio.

Max will make throws surprisingly at times. But people aren't realizing how poorly coached the WRs are at A&M outside of A&M fans. He's going to be throwing check downs to his brother because their WRs just don't get separation and their route trees are terrible.

I was gonna say, Max outshined Hayes King in my opinion. He will be the A&M starter, imho.

I know Jimbo is sort of the QB guru but I guess we'll see.
Is he though?
I don't think it he is
