Deichman was the worst hitter in the LSU lineup this past weekend. He does have power but you can't hit with power when you don't have many quality ABs. In the 2nd inning on Sunday with runners on 2nd & 3rd and Deichman strikes out...... this was the worst AB for an LSU player this weekend. Every other player in the line up would have either hit a ground ball to the right side or found a pitch they could drive to the OF for a SAC FLY. No doubt Deichman probably has the best pure power on the team but when you can't work a count and continue to swing at bad pitches your power is meaningless. I was taught baseball is a team sport and you need to be able to hit the ball to the right side and hit SAC FLYs to help your team score runs.....when you can't do these things you end up leaving too many runners on base.
