I guess we know who our LT and center will be.

"Maea Teuhema is slated to start at LT, Miles says. Rashard Lawrence playing at nose. #LSU"

"Miles says Pocic probably won't move to LT. Too good at center, he says. #LSU" -Ross Dellenger

What are your thoughts folks?

EDIT: "#LSU coach Les Miles: OG Josh Boutte, should he decide to have a great fall, can be one of our more dominant players. #SECMD16"-Jim Kleinpeter

Doesn't mean much. Jeff Grimes is going to move everyone around in fall practice to get the best five out there. Going into fall last season Pocic was still a guard and Clapp was our center.

Terrible decision IMO. Maea doesn't look to transition to LT by all accounts and what he has shown on the field. Pocic is too tall to play C. QB has to look over a 6'7" guy limiting his vision of the field. (Insert middle of the field jokes here) Looking at these 2 guys I see an elite OG in Maea and a very good to elite LT in Pocic. Hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see this being the best lineup.

I didn't like Teuhema at LT in the Spring Game. I'm worried about him against quicker DEs. I'd much rather have kept him at OG and moved Pocic out with Clapp at C.

But oh well. Our pass blocking may be pretty poor, again, this year.

Pocic will get the first crack at LT this year regardless of what Les just said. He didn't come back for his 4th year to play Center again. Center is the one position he won't play on the OL in the NFL.

Maybe it's just misdirection by Miles.

One of the big reasons why our passing game was crappy at times last year that didn't get discussed as much as it should

Watched the Eastern Michigan game yesterday and saw Hawkins get abused time and time again.

It was horrible. They would get beat and then proceed to get the team a holding penalty. It was all sorts of bad last season

Have no problem keeping Pocic at center; he's done real well except for Bama game and that happens.
I didn't like the look of MT at LT in Spring game, looked slow to me. That's a small sample I know but think we'll see either him improve or have someone else slide over and him back to guard.

I agree with you. Maea seemed like a MAULER at guard. Hopefully our oline gets a mean streak going and just squashes opposing dlines

Exactly. It was also a big reason why we failed so bad when we tried to spread the offense out and put Harris in the gun.

The OL was extremely overrated in pass protection going into last year and I don't see how it improves much going into this year with MT moving out to LT.

Pocic is to tall and gets rendered by lower center of gravity NTs, see the Alabama game, does not make sense.

Are you being funny or do you know absolutely nothing about the NFL? If he plays center in the NFL, it will be for an awful, awful team. Passing lanes are even more important in the NFL.

RL is playing or starting? Just playing in the rotation, correct?

You don't see 6'7 centers in the NFL... Its such a position of leverage and it's hard for a 6'7 center to block good NT at that height (Watch the Bama game). I stopped putting any stock in Miles press conferences about anything, especially position starters/playing time.

I think the OL will look like be
LT - Pocic
LG - Meau
C - Clapp
RG - ? (Boutte, Malone, Brumfield)
RT - Weathersby
