We got swept at Auburn

No we didn't.

The Fact that we fared well in SEC play is no consolation for missing Omaha, but it does show how cold we went offensively relative to how we played most of the year.

And last year we peaked too late and the selection committee put it to us.

given all their inherent weaknesses. It took a lot of heart and guts to win the SEC title, which I certainly didn't think they would do at the beginning of the season.

Doc, you hit the nail on the head. It hurts now, but if we were told in the preseason that LSU would have 45+ wins, an SEC title, and fall just one game short of Omaha, most realistic fans would be very satisfied.

SB will hit anybody in the CWS, but they will face teams that are not anemic at that plate.

Stop making excuses, we just got our asses raped by a better team.

How is "we peaked too early" an excuse? SB was a great hitting team. I thought we made their pitching look above average because our hitters went cold. No excuses, we got beat. Just an observation - we peaked too soon. I think our cold bats started at the SEC tournament and continued to the regional. It happens - its baseball.
