I'm sure the product has improved, but I can remember going to watch a match against Auburn about 20 years ago and the 1's, 2's and 3's were pretty good, but the 4's, 5's and 6's there was a significant dropoff in quality and the two 6-seeds were literally lobbing balls back and forth, it was comical.

That was a product of Title 9 and having to fill all the scholarships even though there was not enough quality to legitimately do so.

Maybe it's better nowadays?

Didn't we sign a couple of really good classes the last two years?

The Sell's have been rolling in recruiting with a few consecutive top ten classes.

Seeing as Sells signed the #1 class last year and #2 class this year, and the program's first win against a Top 5 team confirms it's on the rise. The men took an epic tumble from consistently being Top 10 - 15 to nothing.

Coming out of the Fall...

quote:

LSU is one of just four women’s tennis programs in the country to boast four singles players in the top-75, and the only one out of those four programs with two freshmen in the rankings.

Now, heading into the spring, LSU is bringing in the #1 junior in the country who will play in January:
