But now it's back since you chimed in on this thread. Please, please, please. For the sake of LSU being selected, will you definitively tell me they won't make the NCAA tournament?

Not anymore... We probably lose three of the last four games... The N.I.T.???? Maybe.... The so-called Simmons factor has long gone my friend.....

And just like that we will win 3 of the last 4 and the SIMMONS hype will be bigger than ever.

He is a stud that will be the first pick but he probabaly wont win the Wooden award. A once in a generation talent wins the Wooden award. His ceiling is really high but there have been multiple players with higher draft grades than Simmons.

Im talking about he will be a once in a decade NBA player. Superstar... All-Star....first team NBA. I understand hes not winning the wooden award but how many freshman have? Im not going to look it up but Durant or Melo or AD or Magic? Not all great college basketball players are great pros and not all great pros are great in college. Hes having to lead a non-basketball program to the promise land which we only get to about once every 3 or 4 years. I think he has done a good job for a kid. He is a once every decade basketball player.

what ever tournament they make, it will only be for a couple of hours. then it will be over
yep. been saying this a while. Not sure why everyone is so concerned as to whether we make it or not because they will simply bow out in the first round, in my opinion. Now the only way I'd feel differently about this is if by some miracle they get hot and actually win the SECT, then they will have proven they could possibly do things in the dance. At this point however it looks like just about the only way they make it is to win the SECT and the chances of that are pretty slim.

Like Frank Kaminski last year? I wouldn't say he's a once in a generation player. I'll list a few other players off the top of my head I would consider generational (who also didn't win the award:

Magic Johnson
Hakeem Olajuwon
Shaq
LeBron
Steph Curry

I guess you don't put those five players in the same Wooden Award winners category with Jimmer Fredette, Doug McDermott, and Frank Kaminski.

There were no once in generation talents last year.

Lebron didn't play college.

No one considerd Steph, Hakeem, or Shaq as a once in a generation while in college

twice or three times in a decade talent?

im going to stop here. the kid has a couple skill sets with his age, height, and athleticism that makes him special. i believe his ceiling is as high as AD coming out of college and durant.

and i do believe that a sub par lsu team can get a bid with a little work because CBS wants to make the money with more viewers.

I dont see how he wasnt. First pick in the draft. Led the nation in blocks, rebounds for a couple years.
