As many of you know, Nebraska women's volleyball had a game that drew 90K in Memorial Stadium. Recenlty found out Iowa, the team LSU beat in the championship game, is doing a similar promotion at Kinnick Stadium. Over 47,000 tickets have already been sold. I can't imgaine that Kim Mulkey's program couldn't pull this off. WBB is very close to 10K season tickets sold already. Having just won the NCCA championship, LSU should strike while the iron is hot, just as Iowa is doing. What y'all think?

I don't even want to know where this board would be without your wisdom. You always seem to clear things right up whenever confusion arises.

I mean we are talking about Nebraska and Iowa. Not much sports are going on there. Between LSU football, Saints, Pelicans, when would you do this? Plus, weather plays a huge part down here.

I think it would be a cool idea, but man it seems risky weather-wise. How do you build in for a potential rain delay or rain out?

Totally get LSU football. May get heat for this but I’d much rather watch Mulkey and the squad in Tiger Stadium than watch the Saints or Pelicans.

Not to mention wind. Basketball is an indoor sport. Sure, you can play it outdoors, but for serious competition it should be played indoors. You don't want a game determined by a gust of wind.

You would have to make it a non-conference game, like how they've done those big time games played on the decks of aircraft carriers. It would stink for LSU to end up finishing second in the SEC because a gust of wind blew a 15 footer off course

Mulkey has done a heck of a job promoting Women's Basketball.
The WBA has shown, when folks want to see great athletes in competitive action, they aren't buying/watching women's sports.

Not feasible due to the humidity

Most the stadium would clear out by third quarter trying to beat the traffic.

Both Nebraska and Iowa have FieldTurf, so putting a court down over the field doesn't kill their playing surface.

Since Tiger Stadium has the real deal (as Les could attest), they'd have to wait until the season to be over to lay down a court. Now you're looking at holding the game in December. Outdoors.

... NOPE!!!

Newsflash......................both Iowa and Nebraska also play football. The other comments, make more sense than that.
