Like to hear y'all's chances on us beating UK!
I believe if we play to our potential like we did against UF and some other teams we have a descent chance! Which I believe we will since the Pmac will be ROCKING and will be playing #1 team in country on ESPN! UK is beatable when not on game as we seen in AM game and others. Also I believe that UK has not seen this size and athleticism from 5 players all year ( or should I say 4) lol! I think this may give them fits since they have been use to just bullying there opponents and doing what they want since there less athletic. But next Tuesday will not be the case for them. Imma go ahead and call it LSU-72 UK-69

We can win if the team that played West Virginia and Florida shows up. We'll get killed if the team that played MSU (3-21 FG to start game) shows up. We'll need to close the game if it's close somehow.

This one game has the potential to turn around our program and give LSU the title as a basketball school. Attendance will boost tremendously and more fans will start to actually start to follow the program and give it the respect it deserves. CJJ WILL get it done

I want to believe, but it isn't happening. they are just that good and we haven't been playing the best lately.

We did it last year and we'll do it again this year.

Very hard to predict what you get from LSU game to game. Matchup wise it's a nightmare. UK will pound it inside early and often and we will no doubt get in foul trouble. M&M&M have not seen skilled big men like this all year. If we don't make 10 3's we have no chance to keep it close IMHO I'll be there hoping for the best.

Damain Jones is far superior to UK's bigs on the offensive end.

I'd give us about a 15% chance.

22.5%

Q-man hits 4 of 5 from 3 pt line or better, LSU wins.

LSU has no bench (Q-man is 1, I guess). UK has 8 healthy guys.
Q-man has to beat the UK bench by himself.

I think there are about 8 reg season games left.
LSU beats U of K at home but loses three more in the reg. no one will call LSU a basketball school. Its possible.

I guess you mean, this is a pivotal moment, and two years from now we can look back at this win as the win that turned LSU around, and from then on, LSU rose to national prominence in basketball.

Ok. I will give you that possibility. However, I have seen them play.
They could beat U of K and go .500 the rest of the year.

Good point though. I think its premature though. No bench.
Not only does U of K have bigger guys, they have a bench.

Pray that all the LSU players stay in school and play together with the big time recruits. Then you would have a chance to talk about beating U of K and being seen as a national basketball power.
If the couple of pro possibilities go for the money after the team finishes this season. they will still not have a bench next season, unless the coach brings in 5 really good players. its possible.

North Carolina
Texas
Louisville
Kansas

I'm pretty sure UK has played teams with plenty of bigs. UK's defense is smothering. 6'6" along the perimeter will cause plenty of problems for LSU. And, it's not just the length, it's the fact that it's tough to screen against UK. They are able to switch everything outside.

That said, UK plays great when it wants to play great and prove something. It also has the tendency to have lapses in energy when they just don't think the other team has a chance...that's the opening LSU needs.

and wait til you see this Ulis kid play for UK if you haven't already. He's the anti-Gray. In complete control of everything when he's on the floor. Doesn't make a bad decision.

He's in the second platoon because of deference to Andrew Harrison, but he's better than Andrew Harrison.

That's probably about right. It sucks that he only does so in "big" games, but Jones will come out and coach with emotion from the tip. He did it last year against UK (both times) and UF this year. Far too many other times you get the Jones who just stares blankly like he's trying to divide 367 by 58 while his team implodes on the court (see MSU)

That, plus the energy of the crowd, should bring out some energy in the team. IMO, LSU has a big problem with coming out and being lethargic to start games. Especially in "dead" arenas (which the PMAC has often times been) There are times when it seems like Martin and Gray especially, look as if they are falling asleep on the court. That should not be a problem for against UK.

For me the things to watch are:

1. Can LSU get on the run early and often. If UK is allowed to set up on defense in the half-court, I don't think LSU's offense is efficient enough to do consistent damage against UK's D.

2. Can LSU force UK (other than Booker) to settle for 3's. If so, then LSU could have a shot (if they also rebound). However, if UK is hitting threes it will be time to just pack it up and go home.

3. Can someone other than Hornsby get hot from outside? There is no JOBIII for LSU this year and Mickey/Martin don't have the post games to dominate inside. UK is too good on defense. LSU will HAVE to knock down outside shots. TQ, Gray, Patterson, someone will have to get hot.

Won't be able to make a valid prediction until after the 'Bama game. A lot can change between now and Saturday night. At the moment, I expect a hard-fought, physical contest, won by UK; something like 78-70.
That could change depending on what we see from the Tigers over the course of these next two critical games.
