You could argue that many LSU fans living in LA would find it convenient to be able to have Thanksgiving with the family and then have ample time to get to college station afterwards for the annual arse beating

Welcome to the Rant. Don't know if there's an official "rule" for this, but if it's about LSU sports, someone WILL find the negative side to it. Pretty amazing really.
The NFL is not so mesmerizing that it will prevent people who really want to watch LSU from doing so. Sure, we may not get as many viewers as if we played some other time, but we're still on national TV. Also, we'll probably be playing on Saturday night when we're at home, instead of Friday against Arkansas. Should turn out to be a positive in those years.

You either use the bye week the 2nd to last week of the season or you put a yourself in a hole by having a late season trap game. Do you only prepare for TAMU who is dangerous and an EXTREMELY short week and risk being underprepared and upset?
After this past season everyone should be aware of bye week placement and late season cupcake traps. Furman game only up 20-16 at half in a season with a 3000 yard passer 2 1000 yard WRs and 1000 yard rushers. Also you cant say that the well rested team that came out against TAMU looked anything like one that played against Ole Miss.

People acting crazy about this, but in a few years, this game could decide the West. TAMU is killing it recruiting in Texas and pulling in comparable talent in the last three years as LSU. Bama won't remain King of the hill for long. It's my belief that Tennessee will be back to winning ways in 2 years and they'll already have LSU, Auburn, and TAMU to worry about in division.
This could be THE game every year. On Thanksgiving with everybody off work and at home. Could become a premiere rivalry.

After we get done bitching about the perennial Florida game, let's bitch about the ATM game.
You act as if we are not in the sec and there should be no such thing as a...........CHALLENGE. OOOOOHNOOOOOO!
College football fans could care less about the Seahawks vs niners anyway.
Stop bitching. Alleva will schedule southern u before the game.
Td has now become the gathering place for 19 year old females that bitch about everything.
