Doesn't anyone remember that LSU won the Sudler Award back in 2002? Supposedly it's the Heisman Trophy for marching bands.

Actually, the most entertaining band I have ever seen was the Stanford band in the early 1960’s. :jump1: :jump2:

probably because -- and this is just speculation-- you didn't attend Southern University, nor do you have any connection to them.
Southern puts on a damn good show, but the sentimental part of LSU's band (I go to LSU) makes it more special, i.e. goosebumps.

Not really they just happen to be near hollywood so they have been in a few movies and shows.
As has already been mentioned LSU has won numerous national awards including several that would be considered the National Championship if that was awarded. 1970, 1978 and 1979 2002 amd last year just to name a few.
Tiger Band style is usually called SHow Band or Drum Corp, while back in the day we would call Southern's band a "dance band" of which Southern has a rep as being one of the best in that genre.
