My entire HS basketball team watched that game over at our coaches house. LSU wasn't a great team that year but made a game of ir for a good while

There was some post game drama when the team returned to campus. Jerry "Ice got into a very heated argument with John Tudor..Ice thought the play on Kenny Smith was "dirty"...Ice and Kenny are childhood buddies...I thought Ice was gonna kill Tudor..it took a few folks to pull Ice off of him...

The other important thing I remember about this game is that John Williams later stated that watching this game helped him decide to come to LSU. He said something along the lines of the team seemed to have all the necessary pieces except for him. He was such a huge prospect for the program. He was a star recruit out of Los Angeles and could really do it all. He was 6'8, 235 pounds (at least then) and had an NBA-caliber all around game. Smooth ball-handler, nice mid-range shot, relentless rebounder. He's was the foundation of the 1986 Final Four team.

Yeah, Ice had Tudor in a headlock and you could hear the noise at the end of the hall in Broussard...it took 3 guys to pull Jerry off of him...
Most say that play cost Carolina a National Championship...Jordan had to play a lot of point guard the rest of the season...

I seem to remember a LSU/NC game where NC only scored 10 or 11 points in the first half. Am I remembering correctly?

LSU played a game out there at old carmichael auditorium in the early 80's and led the heels 21-9 at halftime. I seem to remember LSU leading late and unc missing a free throw to tie it, but getting the offensive rebound and scored to win it-tough loss.
