Anybody know the post-season record between these two programs? If I recall, I believe they have once before in Supers and about five or so times in Omaha with the last one in 1998?

Using google chrome, I highlighted your thread title, right clicked and hit search, this article came up:

LINK

It contains this nugget:

Mississippi State has been LSU's most frequent opponent all-time with 386 games between the schools. The Bulldogs own a 203-182-1 advantage in the series.

Despite the frequency of regular season matchups, the schools have only met once in the postseason - a 10-8 LSU victory in the 1998 College World Series.

And all of that is irrelevant once the first pitch is thrown Saturday.

shite man. You can't like our chances here then. It's hard to beat a good team 3/4 times. (sarcasm)

That is pretty incredible. I thought we were on a collision course in Omaha in 2013...still cannot believe LSU lost to UCLA in that opener. That was a great team.

Frick UCLA's small ball tactics. That game pissed me off so much

UCLA pitcher got lucky that several balls we hit stayed in the park.

Still think LSU was the best team by far that year

I agree. I was there and we a few balls hit to the track. Was it Katz who launched a ball in the 4th to give LSU a 4th inning 1-0 lead?

I think this team is better equipped to win in Omaha though. This team is a little more scrappy it seems...not sure what the HR difference between the two years, but this lineup seems more stable 1-9.
