LSU will face either Notre Dame or tournament host team Chaminade on Nov. 21 on the second day and one of the other four teams – Wichita State, VCU, California or Marquette – in the Nov. 22 contest.

That's a nice opponent. $390 general admission ticket - wow!
Officials of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational announced on Tuesday that the LSU Tigers will face Michigan in their 2017 tournament opening game on Monday, Nov. 20, at the Lahaina Civic Center on the island of Maui in Hawaii.
The game will be the primetime island game at 6:30 p.m. HST, with the telecast in Baton Rouge at 10:30 p.m. CST on ESPNU and the LSU Sports Radio Network.
LSU will make its fourth appearance at the traditional Thanksgiving week tournament and Tiger basketball fans can purchase tickets for the LSU games at the LSU Athletics Ticket Office. This is currently the only way for fans to purchase LSU game tickets without purchasing hotel and air packages.
Tickets for LSU’s three games are available behind the team bench for $420 per seat or general admission seating in other sections of the Civic Center are available for $390 per seat for LSU’s three contests

Wish I could go to this.

That's big time. If he eeks out a win that's huge for RPI. Players should be pumped. I'd go if I had the money to blow at Hawaii

Have you ever seen a more positive and progressive basketball offseason at LSU?

Would be awesome to see us beat Michigan or Notre Dame and a possible matchup against VCU would be awesome as well. Would put Wade on the map quick here

If Wade really does go out and snag Jamarko Pickett before the season, then I'm starting to think LSU is a tournament team. Would be nice to steal one from Michigan. They've been inconsistent under Belein

Heard about Pickett on the radio yesterday. Committed to Ole Miss but never showed up and was granted a release? He's from Virginia and was recruited by Wade and one of our assistants from what I heard. Would he be able to play for us this season?

that's a good question regarding the eligibility. I would hope so, but he's a take regardless. the dude is an absolute freak from the clips I watched

Jamarko Pickett
I didn't even know we were in play for him. Do you think Bill Armstrong has us in the mix? That would be YUGE!

That's exactly what this team needs a long athletic wing that can shoot and defend.

I thought they were to pair us with vcu to drum up some interest with the will wade storyline. Michigan is definitely a good resume opponent though.

Man I can't wait for basketball season.

Bill Armstrong was his main recruiter, and Pickett credited Armstrong for being a big reason why he signed with Ole Miss.
There was also a big 24/7 analyst that apparently said LSU was in the mix, but I could never find who said it and when. Wade can do no wrong, so he's probably already in BR

Michigan will likely be a fringe top 30 team. ND should be ranked in the top 25 (if LSU gets to play them). If nothing else, it will be a good early measuring stick for LSU just like the tournament in the Bahamas last season when the absolute arse-kicking administered by Wichita St. gave us a glimpse of things to come. Hopefully the outlook will be MUCH different after the Michigan game this year.

I know I heard that Will Wade's contract at VCU stipulated that any school he leaves for must pay a home and home in his 1st two years at hia new job, with the 1st game being at VCU. Was that a rumor?

I think its true but LSU could waive it by paying 350k or something
