Great find. I was there, and remember Roland Barbay on crutches - ON THE FIELD TRYING TO FIGHT! Awesome experience. Looks like the Tulane cheerleaders tried to start something after the td?

I was right there in the South end zone watching it. The thing I remember was Sean Burks clobbering someone.

#90 for Tulane pulling off his own helmet. And, it is said that Tulane is only for smart people

I miss the days when Tulane had a slightly decent football team and this game mattered.

Around this time they had beaten FSU and were very competitive against good teams. It'll never be like this again Uptown.

Yea it's a shame they aren't competitive anymore. 79-82 didn't Tulane go 3-1 against us?

Video doesn't do the fight justice. I was only 9 and remember it like it was yesterday. We sat on the goal line in the south end zone. Great seats.

Was there - Soph year - 6 fights that night around the student section. That game was called because of the fight.

Make no mistake - I hate Tulane above all others. Most of us from that period would agree as it is bigger than just sports. It's East Bank versus West Bank and Yats versus non- Yats, etc. ??

John Bond never lost to us. They won in 83 if memory serves me.

Coach Arnsparger and John Ferguson doing the radio play by play. It doesn't get any better than that.

I was there in upper deck. I was eight years old. Me and my dad went to one game a year and it was usually Tulane. Fight was awesome and definately better in person. I remember our kicker hauling arse to the locker room when the fight broke out, helmet still on. Never seen tv footage before. Thanks for the memories!

The Block letters in the endzone was tight. Wish they would bring them back.

James White started the rhubarb. There was a bit of pushin' and shovin' and James didn't appreciate it and let loose with a kick after the PAT. The Tulane player with his helmet off is Richard Williams. In the tunnel after the game, Coach Arnsparger stated "we won the game and we won the fight". About that time, Wally English was led into the tunnel, by his security personnel, dazed and confused and offers a congratulatory hand shake with Coach Arnsparger. It was, at best, uncomfortable to watch...Coach Arnsparger accepted and went back to speaking to the team. There was not a bunch of good will between Coach and English. From what I gathered, it was their time together with the Fins.
