LSU track and field teams in the top 8

The men are ranked #2, while the women are ranked #8.
LSU has a very respectable chance at winning it all if Ernst can step up and give the team points in the 200m like he has in the past. Jordan Moore, TCU football transfer, could also make a nice leap in the rankings now that's he's getting into track form.
The women are incredibly young with a lot of top talent. They're certainly a year away from being a legit national title contender, but I'd say 95% of their short sprinters and hurdlers are freshmen and sophomores. They'll miss Tori Bliss' points in throws, but very encouraging overall.
Does anyone have any knowledge of their recruiting class? LSU is always last to report its class

I don't know anything about the class but I do love track and field, I think we preformed great at Penn

The women's side is really hitting their stride. Very talented and young group. They just need to add points in the jumps and 400m. They haven't signed a top 400m sprinter in awhile. lots of brick haley moments of being the second option
I've admired what the staff has done with the men's side given the unfortunate combination of injuries and having to kick some top talent off recently

I had no idea both teams were doing this good this year. It's been awhile since we've challenged, it seems, with Oregon and Texas A&M stretching their lead in recent years.

I somewhat agree. Oregon is pulling away from everyone to be honest. A&M was a dynasty in the late 2000s with henry, but over the past 5 years LSU has surprisingly been right there with A&M.
The big difference between someone like Oregon and LSU/A&M is their balance. Oregon gets points from both distance and sprints, while LSU and A&M put all their resources into sprints, relays, and jumps. Yush has quietly made LSU a national brand in the throws.
also, expect Texas to possibly dominate sooner rather than later. Their coach is poaching a good bit of the elite talent.
I feel like LSU is very well-coached but lacks an extremely well-connected recruiter like it had with Elliot. Other SEC schools are signing a lot more international talent than we are

There was a time when we had pat henry that we won almost every year for women. Should not have let him go.

Yes, Briscoe.
She's extremely talented and is having a solid season. She won 26 state titles during her career. Had the #1 60m time too
