So if you take Diving out of the results (because Dave Geyer doesn't coach the diving team) the LSU Women's and Men's Swim team will be dead last in the SEC. The absolute worst sport on campus. It's a shame because there is quality kids and support locally for swimming. Change needs to happen.

There’s no need to update. Everyone knows it’s our worst sport in the entire AD by far with little chance of being competitive

I worked with a guy once who was a butterfly specialist at LSU.

Dude was barely 5’7”.

Does LSU swimming have the worst facilities of all LSU sports?

I know they have done some work on Carl Maddox field house, but it is still probably the worst, though they have a nice outdoor track.

I would note that the track and field facilities being so bad was the reason why Pat Henry left to go to Texas A&M. A&M has won 9 national championships since then...

I honestly couldn’t even tell you that LSU had a regular volleyball (not beach) before reading this.

It’s actually pretty common for swimmers whose main events are breaststroke and fly to be shorter. 5’7” is the short end but it’s not unheard of

Where have you been? LSU swimming under Gayer has been dead last in the SEC even with the help of the Diving Team’s multiple, yes multiple, Gold and Silver medal performance points at SEC’s.
Are you kidding me?
Gayer has patted himself on the back for a “school record” relay performance that actually came out last at the SEC meet. And the swimmers can’t stand the dude, well his distance swimmers like him. Word travels fast in the swim world.
We don’t have a facility problem, we have a leadership problem at LSU, in my opinion.

Who do they recruit? Seems like a way for anyone to be a D1 collegiate athlete.

Louisiana has plenty of homegrown talent and enough swimmers that LSU should not be the bottom of the barrel. Now that Woody is AD he will go give the coach a pep talk on how Emmert would handle the situation. Nothing will change.

LSU deserves better if they are going to offer a team. Better facility, better program and better results. There are swimmers from Louisiana that are scoring points at SECs and knocking on the door for NCAAs, majority of them are competing for another SEC school and HS seniors continuing to choose to leave state to swim in college. LSU swimming is dropping farther and farther behind, it’s sad for a program that once was competitive
