Honest question; sorry if germans, but I don't recall reading much about this on the rant this season. Many have recognized injuries had a huge negative impact this season, especially the loss of Moore and Gordon, among others. We talk a lot about coordinators, and ST/Peveto, but does anyone feel that strength and conditioning is also a problem? Or were we just a victim of unlucky circumstances this season?

we were a victim of having an offense that falls apart if a fullback and blocking TE cant play

For the record, there have been multiple threads on this subject.

From what people tell me, our S&C program is one of the best in the country.

I think our problem is player development and we really just need to start getting better talent.

The first half of that statement is false

The second half is true. And it appears that we are now doing that.

Is it? Our offensive line has been underachieving for years now. If you can help me understand I'm listening.

Moffit (sp) is a holy cow among LSU faithful. We are unwilling to look at other possible culprits.

We have the usual suspects
- Miles
- Offense

Steve Ensminger used to be a favorite whipping boy for the 'fire coach X' crowd. He is out of the limelight with Miles and Cameron getting all the attention.

There's a lot of talk about Scott Cochran going to Georgia with Smart.

You're exactly correct
For some reason people on this board worship Moffit
I'm not saying fire him, but I don't feel like we are at the top of the SEC in strength or conditioning so he is definitely worthy of criticism.

Mofitt does need to be looked at in some capacity. I know we supposedly have a great program there and it might not be his fault but LSU physically has looked bad the past 3-4 years tailing towards the end. Before that time I can't remember in the Miles era where we often look physically outmatched. Mentally, sure but never physically. It was always competitive.

loss of Moore and Gordon

I don't think these two injuries have much to do with strength and conditioning. Moore was a ligament issue more than likely and Gordon was an Achilles tendon. I think their biggest problem was being rushed back too soon which is a trainer problem not strength and conditioning.

Its definitely something that needs to be looked at. Over the last couple of years we have regressed from a physical standpoint.
