I would say we need any of them that can hit the ball.

Ott may get drafted off his Cape Cod performance but no earlier than round 20, they may draft him and follow him through summer ball unless Ott tells a team he will sign irregardless

Jacoby Jones played outfield in the summer circuit last year. A move to center field and a place for Trevor Story is possible.. Jones would be a natural anywhere on the field, whether of not story could hold down SS as a freshman would be a question.

Is Terrance Magee on the list? I've recall seeing that he's had a lot scouts with a close eye on him

Magee is on the follow list.. either because PG doesnt know much about him or there are concerns about his signability because of football. Talent wise he certainly is a top 150 player.. Though these rankings and mocks get alot of attention I hear from the scouting community that it can be largely "gee whiz" info. The top 10 to 20 players in the draft just about anyone can pick out, but I hear that no matter who, Perfect Game, Baseball America included, they get input from SOME scouts/teams,, not EVERY team. Thus the variance from mock to mock and among various rankings.

If he's drafted in the 6th round, he'd almost be foolish not to. He's not gonna do much better than that by staying.

But if they are mocking him in the 6th round, chances are he will go in the top 10 rounds. He has talent that MLB clubs will want to snag. Especially for someone that could be a good reliever someday.

True but mock drafts are usually not that far apart from each other.

Example, Mahtook is mocked anywhere from #13th in the first round to #30 in the first round. But he is still in the first round. If they are mocking him in the 6th, it means the MLB scouts have said good things about him and he has lots of respect from them. I am not saying that he would be drafted in round 6 but I almost guarantee it will be top 10 rounds as more of mock drafts come out.

Its alot easier to predict what round Mahtook will end up than somone like Ott. Mahtook was preseason all american and is a five tool player that is having an all american year. Its simple, the guy is first rounder, and every mock draft will likely have him there.

When you look at Ott, there are tons of questions marks regarding him. I dont know when this mock was done, but Ott's stock has to have taken a hit this season, as well as last season. He can't even hold down our closer role.

Look at the season Louis Coleman had his SR year, he went in the 5th round. I dont see any way Ott gets drafted anywhere near there. Hes a RHP that has a fastball in the mid to high 80s and hasnt had a relaible secondary pitch in 2 years now. There are thousands of guys that fit that bill in college baseball.

True but if Ott can show the scouts he still has the ability to return to his true Freshman season form in 2009, he will be a top 10 round pick.

I am not sure if anyone realizes how much better he has been since a streak of terrible outings and everyone left him for dead...

In his last six appearances -

7.0 innings, 5 Hits, 9 K's, 3 BB, 1 Earned Run, 1 Save

He just might be coming back around folks!

I don't think there is any chance Ott gets drafted before the 20th round this year.
