Just talking about what Miles said yesterday.

It's basically rehashing what has already been turned over on the Rant. Miles' comments on Jefferson making so much progress and Ford being listed last.

i dont see how any of those topics fall under rumor though.

Could the two men presumed to be LSU's starters at QB and RB this fall end up being backups? It's at least a possibility, based on comments Thursday from coach Les Miles. At QB, there's been growing sentiment recently that juco transfer Zach Mettenberger will not walk into the starting position as expected, and Miles seemed to confirm this by saying, "(Rising senior and incumbent) Jordan Jefferson has had as fine a coaching sessions as I've seen. He's in the best shape I've seen him in. His attention to detail and his want to be a great quarterback appears to me to be there." Of Mettenberger, Miles said: "He's a very, very talented passer, and we recruited him with the opportunity to come in here and compete to play. That's exactly where he's at." At RB, rising sophomore Michael Ford, the team's leading returning rusher, could have a significant battle on his hands. When discussing the position, Miles brought up the possible replacements for Stevan Ridley in this order: rising sophomore Spencer Ware, rising sophomore Alfred Blue, four-star recruit Kenny Hilliard, redshirt freshman Jakhari Gore (who's listed as a WR on the spring roster) and then Ford. Now maybe Miles thought he didn't need to bring up Ford because Ford's a given, but he also had this to say about Ware: "I think Spencer Ware certainly has advantages to us at the tailback spot." Lots of hmmms to go around.
