Do people really think Orgeron would come to LSU as a DL coach? I think he'd be insulted.

Why? He went to USC as DL coach under Kiffin

pay him well and give him some bs title like co assistant head coach.

First off, there is no vacancy for DL coach right now and even if there was, Orgeron isn't an idiot. I seriously doubt he will come into someone elses defense, recruit players for him, let someone else (or two other coaches) get all/most of the credit while he waits around for a gig and hope to get a job he thinks he is already qualified for.

You can ask Lane Kiffin about him.

Earlier in his career. He is not interested in returning to the game as a position coach.

Because he thinks he should be the coach at USC right now. In the back of his mind I'm sure he knows he won't get any big time offers but he knows he can land something like a Southern Miss gig if he wants it.

At this point, his stock will not improve coming to LSU has a position coach and recruiting players so two others coaches can get most of the credit.

I agree. I know they're tight, I'm just saying there are some people out there (like recruits) who feel Haley isn't going anywhere.

Somebody has to be telling them that.

Oh, I guess sitting at home would be a better option to get a HC job.

Not saying he's coming but DL and RC was his last job. I guess that is still technically "earlier in his career" relative to today but come on man

It won't improve sitting on his arse either. He wants to coach at a big program? Have at it as a position coach. If it plays out well then he'll get another gig.

So you think LSU would be his only offer?

He turned down multiple offers this year. He chose to sit at home.

I'm not saying haley isn't leaving, I'm saying right now there is no vacancy and the only "info" we have says he isn't.

Let's cross that bridge when we get there
