I think as of now we have a start of a great next few seasons, like every 4 years we go to the national championship. 2003 then 2007 then 2011
Now that it's 2015 who knows what will happen?

The offense has all of the pieces to be one of the best and most balanced groups in the SEC (yes, even at QB). My concern is whether or not the coaching staff can make the adjustments necessary (scheme or just overall approach-wise). LSU's having a poor passing game is a general trend now that I can't solely blame on the QBs Jennings and/or Harris. Until I see it on the field, it's hard to be optimistic that the coaching staff will make the necessary changes.

There are questions on defense. Especially the D-line. Plus, while everyone is optimistic, Steele at LSU is still a complete unknown. That said, there is still a lot of talent on the roster and it's hard to think LSU won't be at least in the top half of the SEC in defense.

Miles has only lost less than 2 regular season games twice in his 10 years as LSU's head coach. The West wasn't as strong top to bottom in those years as it is now.

While I would not be shocked if LSU got through the regular season with only 1 loss, I don't think they finish better than 9-3

We have lost two games, at a minimum, under Les Miles since he arrived on campus every year but one...in that year we lost one.

The odds, just based on statistics, are that we lose at least two games.

One can argue that games that used to be gimmes...such as State...are no longer such. Ole Miss is significantly better than in recent years.

LSU has not beaten Alabama since November of 2011.

All that being said, if LSU can beat State on the road, which should happen, and can beat Auburn at home the following week, which can happen too...there is a very good chance that LSU heads to the Capstone undefeated.

Even with a loss to Bama, they still may be in the division hunt as Bama, though very talented, may not have a QB to go with the talent. They could lose two games in the regular season.

Gun to my head - I think 9-3 with losses to Bama, Auburn and Ole Miss.

This is correct. I've been saying that since spring, but got blasted by ranters who think Harris will get complacent if he's named the starter.

Nonsense. Teams want a leader and a guy to get behind and it would be good for Harris to know he's the guy. The sooner Les names a starter, the better.

CLM will fumble-frick his way to an NC appearance, and we'll never get rid of him.

shot at sec title?

With our talent, there is always "a shot", but the question is how much of a shot. I rate our probability pretty low, but not like A&M, Arkie or MSU, whom I think have basically no shot. I will say, though, that this may be the toughest year in memory to pick out one team in the division and say for sure they have no shot. Usually, there's at least MSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas and maybe A&M, but this year, it's not an absolute certainty for anyone, although I think A&M, Arkie and MSU are huge longshots.
