LSU's offense maybe skewing these numbers too. While we've given up lots of yards in each game LSU's offense has been hanging many more yards on opponents.

Good Point. Playing catchup causes opponents to spread the field and go for broke.

Tackling has not been very good. Improve there and other areas will get better. Too many YAC and that is hurting us.

am convinced the real issue is the defensive line. They are stood up on almost every play. They do not shed their blocks, use evasive technique, pressure away from their desired route or basically show any technique or knowledge of leverage. This results in way more open receivers because of the time they have to throw. Running lanes open and the dl just hold a position as runners go by. Plus, the whole team bites on EVERY fake and misdirection. Fix the dl and the rest will fall in place
Did Brick Haley all of a sudden become a bad DL coach? I don't think so.

Sounds like there is a talent gap exacerbated by inexperience. Goes back to recruiting. For some reason we can't get any really kick arse LB's in here either, despite the fact that we have one of the best DC/LB coaches in the country.

Is Frank slacking off a little?

It's not the defensive line, Ego and Freak have been our only two above average players. It's Welter and Barrow. They're 85% of the problem. Every play they get caught up in blocks that aren't even meant for them. The rest of our d isn't stellar but they're playing 9 on 11 most of the time

Agree. LB's are killing us in coverage and cant fill the gaps. We are losing containment and when we bring one on a blitz they just get blocked. I see very little ability to shed blockers even against the rent a wins we played...
