Do you think that LSU fans will outnumber Oregon fans to the extent that Virginia Tech did to Boise State last night.

That was like a Hokie home game.

I'd say 65,000 LSU & 15,000 Oregon + 5K "other"

So are we getting Washington to come in play at TS instead of going to Morgantown? If not, we will have 6 home games and 6 on the road. Don't see that happening.
what does this have to do with anything? we play washington in 2012

I would like to get the win against a strong OOC team to start the year and the follow that up with a cupcake.

what's your reasoning behind this? Say you lose the opening game with sloppy play, penalties, etc. you do have the next game to work on these things....but the damage to your record is already done.

I cite 48-7 over Virginia Tech as my source

I like it alot: great opponent, site and recruiting ground.

This has to be the 1st time LSU has opened on the road 3 years in a row?

so what if you lose the first game? If you win the rest, you will probably be in the mix for the title game.

VA Tech lost to us, and if they would have won out, they would have been in the title game.

well, I think Ms St. was hurt by that game as much as anything....they had to start the season with a Top 10 team coming into their house in August for crying out loud....bad move on THEIR part IMO

we should definitely open up on the road against a conference opponent who will finish 8-5 so we can blow out a good team the 2nd game of the season.

the day an 8-5 SEC team is considered a cupcake, I'm banging a 10

ok so take this whole Moo State thing out for a minute....I'll relent they finished better than I remember. frickers

You don't think it's better for our team to play a so-called "warm up" before diving into a tough match-up like Oregon? That was always the Saban formula....something he seems to be keeping with to this day

ETA: Obviously I am playing Devil's Advocate, as a season ticket holder Lord knows I will be shelling over my hard-earned money to go see the Tigers in Jerry's Place....I just wish it was game #2

I like playing a big game to open it up. Your team should be more focused in the months and practices leading up and it's nice to see what you really got right off the bat

sometimes you don't know what your strengths/weaknesses are unless you play someone as good or better than you.

you need to lose the defeatist mentality.

This is a good matchup for the players, our fans, and the nation.

Except for last year when he opened up against Virginia Tech at a neutral site and 2 years ago against Clemson on a neutral site

It's going to be their first game as well

And playing a cupcake really doesn't help get a team ready.

damn Chicken, bringing out the good of the "nation" on me? how can I compete with that!

Anyway, I am just pointing out the trend....I like the game and I like the venue....as I mentioned I am sure I'll be there with bells on regardless
