Before the basketball game last night, ESPN filmed an opening segment for the show on ESPN, SportsNation, with the help of the Maravich Maniacs. It will air today, so make sure you tune in!

Listen, I agree. Some of the cheers are pretty ridiculous, but it's not like I see the grads showing their support at the games. Do you even go to them?

Well They were there very early so the 60 or so students that were there early were grouped together so it made it look like there were a lot there. I think the student section used to be a ton better with guys dressing up and actually knowing stuff, but at least many of them go to the games. I'm not gonna hate on the student section because it's pretty hard to actually cheer for a terrible team. It's pathetic the arena was half-filled for a game against a Top 15 team on ESPN

all i know is that the maravich maniac section shows up and cheers a hell of a lot more than the rest of LSU's "fans".

You're making yourself look really bad. So, in other words, what you're telling us is that in order to see a good game with a good environment, everyone must cheer in a curteous fashion as well as make each comment very thought provoking to really get the opponents riled up.

What I get from that section, and I sit close enough so that I hear almost everything coming from them...is that there are like 3 or 4 really vocal guys that yell shite CONSTANTLY...kinda like it is their chance at open-mic night and they are trying to make everyone laugh. Truth is, maybe about 1 of every 10 comments is funny, the rest being very un-funny. Maybe they should go for quality instead of quantity? And I have heard one of the guys talking about how he just knows he is getting inside the opponent's heads. Not so much.
