Arkansas fan across from me thinks #7 on LSU won't go for 100 yards on Alabama and doesn't think they'll rush for 100 on Arkansas (since they held Derick Henry to 85 rushing)

What can I say to this guy?

edit ** he thinks both Alabama + Arkansas Oline is better

LSU is a better team, but Arkansas has a fairly large team (at least the OL), so LSU tends to have trouble pushing them around the way they prefer to do against their opponents. So, in that way, Arkansas tends to match up well vs LSU.

Kind of the same thing happens when Arkansas plays Bama (another large, physical team). The games the past couple years tend to be physical and low scoring.

If Bama ends up being able to hold LF under 100, then I'd say it's possible that Ark holds LF under 100, as well. If LSU & LF prove they can run against Bama, and LF gets his 150+... and if LSU stays healthy, etc., I'd expect LF to get his 100+ against Ark. as well.

Bama D Line >>>> Arky D Line
LSU O Line >>>>> Bama O Line

Hogs fans get a win and they get all full of themselves...again.

They talk about shutting down LF last year yet forget we had no passing game and 2 O line starters out for the game. We ran against 9-10 in the box. This year it won't be below freezing, our O line starters will all be in and they pack people into the box Harris will make them pay. Buga goes for > 150 versus the Hogs.

caught some of a Tiger Talk radio show on 105.5 KBUCK here in Alexandria last nite. seems like a regular show sponsored by the Tiger Rag.

they had one of their experts on - this guy thought LSU's o-line wasn't anything special, but when he described the Alabama Front Defensive Seven you'd have thought he was describing the Nephilim - these guys were so good we might as well just raise the white flag. never heard of him before so I can't remember his name.

he loved him some BAma.

Tell a) you're ignorant and 2) Florida expected to stop LF7 too

I expect LF7 to run for >100 on everyone that LSU plays this year. I don't think there is a defense in the country that could hold him to <100 yards in a game.

I don't know who the fricking idiot was on the radio, but I assure you he is a fricking idiot probably never played a fricking down in his life.

From Day one LSU was projected to have one of best Three Olines in SEC which means the nation along with Georgia and Arkansas. Some had Bama and Ole Miss in the mix too. (I have post on this) If you played offensive line or football ever, you would realize that LSU's offensive line is exceptional this year and probably the best in the SEC. They are built to run and move the ball but also generally have done a solid job at pass blocking.

Now Bamas's front 7 is also exceptional and built to stop the run. However, despite the A&M fiasco u can throw on them all day if you have time. Particularly they are susceptible to crossing routes flys and slants right up the middle. (Watch Ole Miss again) Now since ole miss and A&M cant run worth shite they have not really had to defend both run and pass other than ARKy and UT. ( I am just ignoring Georgia as I have no clue what to make of them) Both were close games and our offense is better than both of them and so is our defense. )

What doesn't typically work against them are bubble screens, typical edge runs and blast etc.

This is a classic chess match, intractable force versus immovable object. Both teams will try to establish the run and control line of scrimmage. Saban will do this to protect Coker who has a propensity to turn the ball over. Les just likes 3 yards and cloud of dust.

However, If Cameron follows the Ole Miss Script and uses LF as decoy most of the game and switches back into and out of HUNH and controls the pace of the game I like our chances. Bama's Defense had always been big and brawny and they can be worn out like in 2009 but you have to have the depth and skill players to match them to do that. The only teams that could possibly do that are LSU, Ohio State, Michigan State, and maybe Stanford and maybe this year Clemson. Otherwise, they do to everyone what they did to ARky and wear u out at the end. Also, we need Harris to run for 100 yards more than LF.

And we need the mad hatter, he gets under Saban's skin and his unpredictability fires up the team. Lets go for it on 4th down, punt on third, open the game with an onside kick. It sends a message we are fricking nuts and not going to lose .

The Xfactors no one is talking about:

Kevin Steele, ex Bama coach. Surely has some insight into players and weaknesses we can exploit. Coach O, we ahve different defense but we know theirs.

Weather, is it going to be cold and rainy windy etc.

Injuries, LSU is healthier than Bama for a change and will be healthiest we have been all year.

Luck, lets face it they have had it 2 out of 3 of last wins when we clearly outplayed them but lost.

So take it from former Olineman, we are very solid here. We will not get our arse handed to us by Bama's Dline. We will win some and lose some, but winner of that battle will likely win the game. (Everyone will celebrate the great LF runs and Harris throws, while some of us will watch the great blocks and 4 seconds he had to throw the ball.)

None can predict the future, but we should win this on unless Satan pulls a rabbit out of his arse, or get lady bad luck again.
