-Alabama will be loaded up on stopping Fournette
-Alabama's strength is run defense
-They will be jacked up and pumped to stop the run
-A few pass plays will loosen up the team and quiet the crowd
-Our secondary is susceptible to blown coverages/TDs

I really really hope Les doesn't pull a typical Les and pound his head against the wall over and over again and play ultra conservative. You have to trust Harris.

How does this:

fit in with this:

?

We aren't going to change our stripes.

They will be pounded early and often in an effort to soften them for the second half. Harris is going to have to step up on 3rd down because LF is gonna get the ball on 1st and 2nd.

Whoever has the most points wins? We can get down quick and running the ball into the ground isn't going to keep up

Nah. We're going to play how we want to play. Bama doesn't dictate what we do, nobody does.

First play

power run with full-back off left side

Agreed. I rewatched last years game today and it was very clear that our receivers were able to get open but either the throws were there or the receivers dropped the ball. This year our QB and WR's are leaps and bounds improved so I expect us to move the ball through the air quite well. Hopefully opening up some room for Fournette.

So...you want to go away from the strength of this team with the expectation of winning?

Passing will be necessary, definitely need to keep them honest. Harris will need to keep doing what he's been doing the last few weeks for LSU to be successful. But LSU does not need to come out and throw the ball over the field. This offensive line is good. Fournette is good. This team is built to run.

We just have to go with the flow of the game run or pass so that we avoid 3rd and long situations where we obviously are in a passing situation. Run or pass to get to 3rd and 2 or 3 is where we need to be with the ability to convert 3rd downs.

The very first play should be a LF fleaflicker

Frankly I think Saban believes he can stop the run with his front 7 and will leave the safeties back in case Fournette gets beyond the line. I would have a good run call lined up for the first play to show them we're going to run it no matter what they do. That will make play action that much more effective. Simply winging away right off the bat isn't going to accomplish squat.

No they won't, they will try to stop him with 7 defenders. If LSU can't have at least modest success running on an unloaded box, they aren't going to win.

But they will so

only things that scares me about this game is the 0-1 WR set. BAma will have 8 lineman/LB's in if we come out in this formation and we will not be able to run.

if the pass is a threat by formation we'll be able to do run and pass.

surely our coaching staff knows this. hopefully they will not run the 2 or 3 TE set on 3rd and short. (or any down for that matter).

Their secondary has certainly been more susceptible to the big play than ours has this year.

We have the best running attack in the country and you want to come out slinging it around the yard like we're Texas Tech.

Brilliant.
