WTF???! Really? How does that happen? I'm still at a loss for words. Like I was taught, if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all. So I'll just move on.

A lot of them we're good looks around the basket too. They just missed everything.

He does hold some responsibility. He basically gives them a jersey and a basketball and says go play. It works great when they're on fire, but players need guidance and discipline when things start to go to shite. Most teams resort to basic fundamental basketball when they can't throw the ball in the ocean. The coach calls a time out and they go back to doing all of the little things correctly. JJ has no clue what fundamental basketball is.

The end to the AU game was enough proof he can't manage a game.

Sometimes the shots just don't drop. I think the biggest issue with missing that many shots is with a 16 point lead you set every possession up with a time consuming play. I saw too many quick shots that allowed NCST more opportunities.

12 final minutes in AU game I think LSU scored 0 points. 9:15 secs in NCST game LSU scores 3 points. No bench.

I blame JJ. Freaking sub every now and then...Bridgwater? An OK player is better then an exhausted player who is throwing airballs

To view this any other way than a total team loss is missing the big picture. Players and coaching staff. This is first and foremost a fatigue and mental focus issue from the players. We were flying high the first half and totally out-athleticed NC. But some of our success was coming at the hands of the NC bench. They were getting rest to their starters and we weren't. As the second half rolled on it became obvious guys weren't making the same plays as fatigue set in. Part of this is depth but part is coaching. Vs Arkansas we played without Mickey and won by giving Bridgewater, Epps and Malone vital 1st and 2nd half minutes to let our guys rest. Mickey played 38 minutes last night. What?! JJ has to be more creative in his substitution patterns. Then you have tired guys making bad plays down the stretch. We've seen it before. Auburn, Kentucky, some of the other tough losses. This program has improved but we missed a great chance to step up even further due to some mental lapses by our guys and some coaching decisions. It's not enough just to say hey, we improved that's enough. We let a golden opportunity to advance slip away and will probably never get that chance again with Mickey and Martin.

When you establish an uptempo pace and try to out run your opponent, it helps to have depth.

We ran the same 5-6 guys into the ground all night and they were out of gas by the end. The intensity and energy which led to the big halftime lead was unsustainable, and with tired legs our main guys could no longer rely on their superior athleticism to create easy shots, nor knock them down with any reliability.

Similar pattern we saw all year. Just didn't really have the horses to sustain our brand of basketball for two complete halves. Hopefully the depth issues are improved next season. Some of that will come with roster fortifications and some of it will have to come from Johnny evolving a bit as a manager of the game.

I'm pretty sure he ended the game with two timeouts still sitting in his pocket, as he watched them choke it away.
