I was over on the Tech message board (shocked that they actually had electricity in Ruston) to look at pictures of their new jumbotron. Well, I was looking around their website for a couple of minutes and noticed a thread entitled, "Go Rice!" Inside the thread was a bunch of pathetic backwoods hillbillies pulling for Rice. My question is, what do they have against LSU? They always pull against us for whatever reason. They are lumped in there together with ULL and Tulane fans in my opinion. Are other in-state schools (Northwestern St, McNeese St, Southeastern, etc.) like this?

I figured the majority of in-state schools would be happy that LSU is in Omaha and representing the state in some sort of fashion. What is with ULL and Louisiana Tech?

Tech feels like it will one day replace LSU as the flagship sports school in the state. I went there for undergrad and they feel like it is just a matter of time once they have been in Div. 1 for a certain number of years. I sense some insecurity in LSU fans concerning Tech. You might even call it fear.

You better have your senses checked out!

I respect Tech, but you tell me why I should have "insecurity" or "fear" bout what they bring to the sports table considering what LSU has accomplished this decade at that same table?

I would bve very careful of thinking the cutlure of a message board is typical of the entire Tech fan base

By design that message board has a nobody but us mentality. Which is ok but I knew a lot of Tech fans up here that have been following and rooting for LSU

This thread is complete bs that gets started about once a week by some tech wannabe. The truth is most tech and other state schools students pull for LSU. Obviousy, there are extremist that have this wannabe attitude. Tech is no better in any given sport on any given year than ulm or mcneese. Tech will never break out of the shadows of LSU. There premier Womens BB program instantly went down hill once LSU commited to be best. Those who choose to attend proffesional school who graduate from Tech attend LSU and become lifelong tiger fans. I guess tech wannabes think that if they start these threads enough that someone will believe it.

Well I give La. Tech's its props, they have been able to do what UL-L has NEVER done and that is beat LSU in football...be it that it was 105 years ago by the score of 6-0 but nonetheless...

I am not sure there is a relation there. I think the problems with the Tech BB programs has more to do with an intial bas bad bad hiring decision a few years back

Ruston's getting a lot bigger than you think.

Tech fans are not ANYWHERE close to those of Fulane and U-la-la. All the Tech friends I have and know always pull for LSU, as long as they're not playing Tech of course.
