On Wednesday, LSU will play the worst seed remaining between:

#4 Kentucky vs #9 Ole Miss
#6 Arkansas vs #7 Mississippi State

Though nothing is certain, it's likely that Kentucky beats Ole Miss. IMO they are substantially better than Ole Miss, in both hitting and pitching. That means we'll play the winner of Arkansas and Mississippi State. If this past weekend was any indication, it'll be MSU. I'm not wild about this match up, especially given how hot the Bulldogs are right now.

To make matters worse, MSU is starting Brandon Woodruff tomorrow, meaning that Chris Stratton will be pitching in their second game on Wednesday. If you don't follow the ins and outs of SEC baseball, the dude is the real fricking deal. He makes every game he pitches in winnable- even against the big boys. Here's to hoping that MSU loses the first game.

Ole Miss will be throwing Wahl, I assume, against a reeling UK team.

Yeah, I'm hoping so. I can't make up my mind if UK is going to come out pissed and bombing or if they've given up and will fold like a lawn chair. Either way, I'll be following this game pretty intently.

Ole Miss might be playing for their postseason lives tomorrow. Bianco and their players know it. They are throwing their ace in Wahl. I am fairly confident they can beat a UK team that has lost 3 of their last 4 SEC series and is starting a freshman.

I predict pain for UK in that monster park (for them at least) in Hoover.

Right. Regions Park doesn't set up well for UK and given the pitching matchup, Ole Miss' chances look promising. That said, LSU won the game Wahl (and Stratton) started, but lost the game Mayers started.

I'm surpised their holding their ace. Could really come back to bite them.

BY that do you mean the lowest seed that advances?

I wouldn't count Ole Miss out.

Yes. Of each of these four teams, LSU will play the lowest (worst) seed remaining of the two winners.

I'm not either, but UK has more talent than Ole Miss. Whether or not they actually use it tomorrow is the question. FWIW, Ole Miss winning is the best case scenario for LSU so that's who I'm rooting for.

If cheering for Ole Miss is wrong., I don't wanna... Aw frick it.

Kinda hard to bring myself to "cheer" for Ole Miss, even though I know them winning is best for us.

I hope the UK/OM game goes 23 innings.

I haven't seen for sure what everyone else is doing, but ole miss is very likely the exception throwing their top guy in the first game on a short week. I doubt anyone else is. They are desparate.
