this isn't just an LSU thing, but a southern thing across the board, IMO. Bama fans are still whining loudly about the conspiracy to keep the Heisman away from the clear winner, Trent. In addition, they're still whining about those who thought Ok State should have been #2.

Don't personalize things. This is not about LSU getting respect. There is a simple game at play here. Those who want to destroy the BCS system pushed hard for this matchup and are hoping Bama wins because it helps to discredit the BCS. This has nothing to do with anyone hating LSU or LSU fans.

I could care less whether they respect our team except for one fact. Alot of the polls and sports writers are weak minded and are influenced by the constant barrage of bama this and bama that.
The only venue LSU is gonna have to sway them is on the field.
Because if it is close you know the same damn thing is gonna happen. Smith and the other Bama crap stitters are gonna say the better team didnt win twice.
And if they do win they will say the first one was just a fluke.
Knowing LSU should not have had to play them twice.
Bama wasnt a conference or even division champion and that hypocrit of a coach doesnt seem to want to acknowledge his bias.
Screw em all.

I've heard several commentators say that if we win the game, we will be rated the best college football team in the history of the NCAA.

I think LSU is getting a great deal of respect, and the fact that so called experts are favoring Alabama is meaningless. They get paid to talk, and talk they do. I believe LSU will take care of business

LSU has gotten more respect this year than any other LSU team in my lifetime. A few people still have a problem with LSU based on some boneheaded coaching decisions in the past.

LSU has gotten more respect this year than any since I have been a fan. For every Robert Smith, there are a half dozen articles talking about how awesome this team really is. Negative people focus on negative things.
