2 ticks of clock. 20-19 over aubie.

Terrible call vs bama. Lsu takes the lead.
Momentum. And spirit.

Wisconsin. M keh.

So yeah, sort of, maybe.

Wisconsin- in FG range threw interception
Auburn- snapped ball 1 second late; scored touchdown
Florida- stopped on the 1 yd line

It's a lot of ifs, but it's not completely absurd.

I know you don't want to think LSU was that close but sometimes that's the way it is. Alabama was one play away from being last years NC. They were probably one play away in 2013 (The Kick 6). They were one play away from NOT being the NC in 2011 (Okie State missed FG vs. Iowas State).

win those two and you keep Miles and Cam. No doubt they would have screwed something up later down the road.

LSU was just five years away from not losing to Alabama six straight times.

If LSU had beaten Auburn, Miles would not have been fired and who knows what would have happened in the following games.

many teams could say the same thing every year. Clemson is a good example last year - if the NC State kicker doesn't choke, they lose 2 games and miss the playoff entirely. And their last second game winner against Bama in the NC game - if they don't make that play, no championship.

See, most teams can play this silly what-if scenario. At the end of the day, you have to actually win the close games.

2 of those 3 games were with Miles and were just the latest and last examples of the razor's edge he unnecessarily always lived on at LSU.

After nearly getting fired for having an outdated and largely inefficient offense in 2015 he opens 2016 by making absolutely no changes to the thing that nearly cost him his job in the first place. Wisc. was a solid team but that game was LSU's for the taking. Even after the White TD, you saw glimpses of LSU being able to turn on the offense if needed, including the final drive. But because Miles stayed in his usual shell all game long, it allowed one mistake to decide the outcome.

Vs. Auburn, LSU's defense really wasn't that good. AU marched up and down the field between the 30's. However, the defense stiffened just enough to keep AU out of the endzone all game. AU gives LSU a chance create some separation in an otherwise close game by fumbling deep in their own territory. In response, Miles promptly blast Fournette up the middle 3 times (including burning a TO he needed at the end) before settling for FG. Even with all of that, the offense showed, once again, it could turn it on when absolutely necessary. Unfortunately, clock management was a mess and LSU comes up a half-second short.

I'm not going to say LSU will be a national championship caliber team next season. But I don't think anyone can predict what they will do, because the changes on offense will be so drastic. This is not a Miles led team from which you and everyone else knew EXACTLY what to expect.

That entire article can be summed up by one line from it:

It's OK if you don't want to admit it. The assertion is asinine, nonetheless.
