It's simply that to win in Omaha you need to rely on a deep bullpen to win the 4th/5th game

They haven't (and may not) even made it to the 4th/5th game. So I don't see how you can say they aren't built to win the post season. Also, at no point in any of your posts have you said what a team needs to win.

Is your issue the bullpen, because they haven't shown anything negative at this point to the post season. Is it the hitting? You said it's a good offense, even if it is cold right now. I'll agree with that, but so what?

What does LSU need to have to win the postseason that they don't currently have? And please provide examples of where they are currently deficient.

Can't say that about many other teams in Omaha. Just so happens that our bats weren't great yesterday, but they still may have been good enough if we played defense

You have a few good points, but the deal is LSU needs to play to their potential on the big stage and for some reason they come up short.
2013 Nola did not make a mistake and others did and we did not hit so we lose-just one example.
Other teams with less talent can win the CWS, but they are all here because they went down the same path to get to the CWS as LSU.
Also, everyone wants to beat LSU more than any other team.
The look on CPM's face tells the story. He knows he does not have the pitching to win this one now and he is hoping for the miracle too.
Hopefully we get one......

I actually agree with you. There is such a huge gap between our top 2 starters and the rest of the arms. I believe that to be the main reason Paul sticks with our top 2 starters too long sometimes.

I believe LSU hasn't lost back to back games all year, so that should tell you more about our team than this demoralizing thread you just created.

If this LSU team isn't built to win in the postseason (this is the final 8/64 teams BTW), I'd love to see what such a team looks like. Sounds like a mythical creation.

Great bats... Check

The bats aren't great right now by any stretch. They were for sure good during the season, but in the post season they have been awful. They didn't exactly rock the teams we played in the regional and super regional and the slump has seemed to carry over into Omaha. I had hoped that the bats would come back alive since they started hitting pretty well in the final game against ULL, but it seems that they've gone even colder than they were before. They constantly let first pitch fastballs down the pipe go by and then swing at crap out of the zone. No team is going to have much success doing that.

It's called hyperbole genius, thanks for clearing that up though I definitely thought that a major D1 program like LSU isn't in the top 200 for SOS

Sure it is. I'm sure you just pulled a specific number like 223 out of your arse and just threw it out there to exaggerate a point.

In any event, the point stands. You're still wrong about the SOS.

So you disagree with the fact that LSU plays a generally weak out of conference schedule that doesn't help prepare them for Omaha? I was just talking about the typical TD baseball fan dumbasses arguing stupid shite (I.e. Whether or not I was serious about a random number I punched out on my keyboard) and here comes your dumb arse go circle jerk to paul mainieri elsewhere bud, sorry if you can't see that playing the mcneeses and southerns all year long don't really do much to make us a seasoned ball club when we start playing real teams in the postseason

We're the champions of a conference that comprises half of the CWS field. If that doesn't prepare you for Omaha, nothing will.

I'm as critical of Mainieri as anybody. Check my post history. I still stand by what I said...you don't know what the frick you're talking about.

Hey dumbfrick, first of all we're not talking about SEC play, second of all we didn't play Vanderbilt this year, Arkansas didn't belong in the CWS and got in because their regional and super was a joke, and Florida is in the loser's bracket so not sure what your point is. SEC baseball isn't head and shoulders above the rest of the country like it used to be and if you'd get your head out of your arse and flip on ESPN2 you'd probably see that we're in the middle of getting smacked around by Cal State Fullerton right now. If you think that we looked prepared to play against teams like TCU and Virginia then there's something wrong with you.

So I'll repeat the question a third time since you're obviously a little slow and think irrelevant details support your argument...did our OUT OF CONFERENCE SCHEDULE seem to be strong and prepare us for the college world series? Mainieri doesn't have a say in our SEC schedule but he does with our OOC and that's what I've been talking about so stay on topic dipshit, nothing you said is disproving that we play candy arse OOC foes and it consistently hurts us later in the season

And our OOC strength of schedule was 165 this year, I'm the one that doesn't know what I'm talking about though right?

I'm getting what you're about.

You're pissed off because those freebies the boss gives you behind the left field fence are for Nicholls and Southern instead of CSF or Arizona State. Got news for you...if they were, he wouldn't be giving them to you. Sorry, champ.

at those two replies. Classic worthless rantard, when you realize you're wrong you resort to pulling random insults out instead of just shutting the frick up. Just accept that you're an idiot and walk away with your tail between your legs instead of completely flying off the handle and making a fool of yourself.

Btw, I'm still in college but maybe one day I'll be a complete loser like you with a crappy desk job so I can spend all day accumulating 35,000 posts on a sports forum at an age where I should have more important shite to do take a look at your own pathetic life before you throw shade at people you've never met online

You really need to get a grip on those anger issues. It's a message board.

Oh...and we won.
