Congrats to the Tigers!

LSU now has five titles:
1940, 1942, 1947, 1955, 2015

We are behind the following schools:

16- Houston- 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1969, 1970, 1977, 1982, 1984, 1985

10- Oklahoma State- 1963, 1976, 1978, 1980, 1983, 1987, 1991, 1995, 2000, 2006

7- Stanford- 1938, 1939, 1941, 1942, 1946, 1953, 1994, 2007

Now we are ahead of Florida and North Texas State, who each have four (4).

ETA to add years for Houston, Oklahoma State and Stanford.

Wow that's cool!! I'm guessing there has always been a golf tournament so all of our titles are legit. Not like some schools claiming titles from bogus POLls

I would have guessed Stanford had the most. Congrats to the LSU golf team.

LSU used to be second back in the day...would probably still be third right now if LSU hadn't let Florida hire away Buddy Alexander (UF won a couple of NCAA's under him).

Not a peep was said on Sportscenter. ESPN has always hated LSU.

The gumps only have their recent two- 2013 and 2014, nothing to worry about in the all time ranks with them.

Tiger79, here is your answer:

The Intercollegiate Golf Association (later named the National Intercollegiate Golf Association (NIGA)) sponsored the annual tournament and awarded titles from 1897 through 1938. In 1939, the NCAA assumed tournament sponsorship and began awarding championship titles.

NIGA Titles, all time:
Yale- 20
Princeton- 11
Harvard- 6
Michigan- 2
Stanford- 1
Dartmouth- 1

How did LSU and Stanford both have titles in 1942?

Co-champions with a score of 590, we were co-champions in 1940 with Princeton as well.
