I like watching LSU play and hosting a super would mean something to a lot of people so I'd say yes.

Is UF 0-4 against their UNO and McNeeese equivalent this year?

I know it's just baseball. And I know skip's team gave up 20 runs to bama before he beat them in Omaha for the title. But come on, josh. This is completely different and you know it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Florida lose to like Florida Gulf Coast twice this year?

And South Florida. Also down 10-1 to Stetson before rain delay in which Florida refused to come back out on the field. Game was cancelled.

Florida is also 2-0 against FSU and 3-0 against Miami in addition to leading the SEC. you can drop a few midweek games if you also do that, which is why they're still 4th in the RPI even with tonight's loss

Our OOC SOS is actually helping us overall. Maryland and the Houston Classic have been huge. If this were any other year and we dropped this many midweeks, we'd be screwed. But that's the odd part, we won the weekend games we were supposed to win. Only losses to TTU and TCU. Not bad.

Agreed. Maryland being halfway decent definitely has helped as well as the Houston classic. But you have to think we're a lock to host at this point without 6 midweek losses (tonight's wasn't bad btw w USA being a top 50 RPI team). As it stands we probably can't afford to lose a series more than likely and feel comfortable hosting.

If we are on the bubble for a Nat Seed and our RPI is in the 8-10 range after going 4-2 the last two weekends

Our RPI cannot get up to 8-10, regardless of the last two weekends. Before last weekend, someone posted the current RPIs for the various SEC contenders and what, mathematically, they would have to do to reach a certain RPI level. For LSU, getting into the 8-10 range required almost winning out (think we needed to win all but one of our remaining games), which we have already failed to do, having lost two of the four games that followed that posting.

is it safe to say midweek games matter?

Absolutely they matter. If we were 12-0 in midweek games, we'd be 38-11 right now and a virtual lock for a national seed. Even going 10-2 and being 36-13 right now would put us right in the middle of the discussion. Because we're 6-6 and 32-17 overall, we're not even in the discussion.

If LSU takes care of business these next two weekends and win the SEC tournament, we still deserve a national seed

No matter what LSU does from this point on, even if it wins out and wins the SECT, it will not "deserve" a national seed. If we got one, it would be on our name alone and not on merit.

Here's the thing though, there aren't many, if any, other teams really taking control either.

ETA: I'm not saying we would necessarily deserve it, but it would also be because the entire country is middling, not just on name.
