A guy I know from here moved up there to do some kind of work in the plants up there. He says that he is always representing LSU up there. Slim chance that it was him, but still cool to hear.

I was in Wasilla a month back (where Palin was the mayor) well before Palin was in the picture. I met a girl working in Starbucks who was wearing an LSU pin on her apron. I was wearing an LSU shirt and she was ready to talk some LSU football. As I was leaving I thought, "Go Figure?" I love meeting LSU fans around the country. A friend of mine asked me why I wear LSU t-shirts when I travel instead of business attire. To meet other LSU fans, of course!

I'm not from Alaska, but I have had many extended stays and traveled up there many, many times. I have seen a couple Bama hats, but not nearly as much as I've seen LSU gear. Many LSU fans were oil field workers headed to the Slope. Even so, it's nice to see the colors.

I do the same. On a trip in Australia, I was traveling out from Cairns, had an LSU shirt on and met another LSU alum.

I spent a summer in Alaska and met a lot of LSU fans up there. Some guy told me he had become a fan when the LSU basketball team played in the Alaska Shootout or whatever in the 80s and had followed them since then. I saw that guy on Greta. That was cool.

The guy on FoxNews with the LSU hat was named Brent, but they didn't mention his last name, looked like a tall cajun, maybe an oil industry guy with possibly a hockey jones at the ice rink..I was hoping Greta Van Sustern in her canary yellow sweater, would inquire about the camo LSU hat.

I live up here, there are thousands of LSU fans here.

Believe it or not there are a ton of LSU fans in the Dakotas, too. (The only two bomber bases so they swap maintainers; plus Dale Brown...quite a following)

Oh, I've got an interesting story on that, too. You typing that reminded me of it and I'll have to share when I'm back for the Georgia game.

Why can't you share it now?
