LSU has quietly put together a pretty decent offensive line

Last year we had injuries along the 0-line and little quality depth. In particular with the emergence of Damien Lewis, this years group appears to have five solid starters and very good depth behind them. We certainly need to be strong here with the inexperience at qb and rb behind them.
At guard LSU has Lewis, Brumfield, Ingram and Campbell. These are all athletic guys and the group average is over 320 lbs. It helps that all of them have been in a college weight training program for a couple years on average as well
At tackle LSU has Charles, Deculus, Traore, Magee and Savage. This was overall a highly recruited group. Deculus and Charles are quality starters.
Cushenberry is at center, where any of the guards might move over if need be.
Then you have three freshman (Smith, Wire and Hines) who probably wont play, not because they are not good, but because of the depth chart in front of them.
The JC transfers help a lot here. Traore was more high profile, but from practice reports its Lewis who sounds like the stud. I am sure everyone has seen the picture of his tree trunk arms. The guy is so massively compact, he looks like the guy you run behind on third or fourth down and a yard to go.
Full disclosure, I am not an O fan or a fan of his hiring. But you have to give credit when its due and LSU does look to be a lot stronger and deeper in the trenches this year, on both sides.
The perennial question mark at qb remains. And for the first time in a while we have a question mark at running back. If LSU ever needed a solid group on the O-line, its this year for sure. Football can be a frustrating game to watch when your o-line is getting pushed around. Conversely, a young qb can look a lot better if he has time to pat the ball and go through his progressions without a lineman in his face. I hope this group lives up to its promise.

I'm optimistic we can be better but damn all these random posts out the blue these last few weeks reiterating the same shite (I do think the O line will be a little bit improved)
Is there an undercover PR Campaign taking place?
Feels like it

Not from me, I think Orgeron was a really bad hire and still do. I hope I am wrong. I do think we are stronger on the O-line.
Sorry for posting anything that might be good about the team. I should have known better.

Magee outplayed Deculus last year but gets
no love for some reason.
Our best OL was Charles Brum Clapp ingraham Magee in the Auburn game last year.

How is Deculus considered a quality starter? He hasn't proven anything yet.

He’s still riding his hype as a recruit. I hope he pans out, but he has not proven himself yet.

Oh look one of the flock. Hey look at me I'm cool like everyone else. I'm doing that thing where we talk about the binder and such. Anyone who ever says anything positive must be on the payroll for Derek

Listened to booger talk about us being very strong on both lines, linebacker, and WR. Defensive backs will as good as always imo if we stay healthy. We cant have anyone go down there. Really leaves running back, QB, and special teams. I personally think we are fine at running back. Those guys all could have gone to other big programs and its one of the easiest positions for a young guy to come in and play well. No clue on special teams And last, qb. Brennan and narcisse give me more hope then most years, but they will be the big question mark.

Very true. This board absolutely sucks now.

He never even started a game. He played a few times when Weathersby got hurt in game, and got worked.
He’s young I am Not saying he’s not good but Magee played well and isn’t a true Sophmore.

From what has been reported, Deculus beat out Traore in spring practice. Traore was the number one JC offensive tackle recruit in the country. So I figure that along with Deculus being an elite recruit justifies the notion he will be a solid starter this year.

The QB position will determine how good this year LSU football program will be.
