That game was awful. A complete 2nd half meltdown.

Game started at 3 pm. Got home from school right in time and the game was tied at the half. No doubt LSU was going to take over in the 2nd half. Then the 2nd half started.

Are you? The game we’re talking about was in 2003.

Oh boy, just looked up the 2005 UAB disaster, that was a 6/11 game. That was an ugly from the Taco Bell arena in Boise. I liked when they kept the site courts. All the same NCAA courts are garbage.

How sweet would it be to come out and win our first couple by 20+ points.

I'm asking this peacefully, not trying to be a smart arse. Why in the hell didn't you dvr or vcr the game, so you could watch the whole thing after school? I've been doing this for 35+ years and just can't comprehend a huge Tiger fan not doing the same.

The yin and yang of the John Brady era. That 2003 LSU team upset #1 Arizona a few days before Christmas, then was complete dogshit for the first month and a half of SEC play. They started 3-8 and looked destined for another missed NCAAT. Then, suddenly, they got red hot. They went 6-1 to finish the season. They then went to the SEC Tournament in New Orleans, beat Arkansas, then upset #7 Florida. I was in attendance and sat damn near courtside because the Kentucky fans had bought up all of the tickets and had yet to arrive for their game in the night session. I rolled back into BR after the game, still drunk, and met my girlfriend literally for a fish sandwich (it was a Friday in lent after all) and some sex.

That was at a time how a team did in the final 10 games was a big component for the selection committee. LSU's 8-2 finish got them in to the NCAAT where two months prior it looked like Brady would be fired. Many experts thought that hot LSU team not only would beat Purdue, but had a strong chance to upset #1 seed Texas in Birmingham. LSU did enough in the first half to reach HT tied. Then, the staple of John Brady's tenure arose...terrible offense. LSU was butt-fricked to start the second half and never recovered.

That season (and game) typified the extreme peaks and valleys that was the Brady era. Things look great to start (beat Arizona)...then crash to rock bottom...then unexpectedly play great...only to disappoint you in the end. LSU would have the same season in 2004...only in reverse order. Sadly, I think we are about to re-enter those days of wild inconsistency

What does “got home right in time” mean to you? Got home right in time for the game.

Sorry, I didn't read it completely. I thought you said you got home at the half. I just read again. My bad.
