Impressive.

Will Wade:basketball>>> Ed Orgeron:football.

Look for Tiger hoops to once again become relevant.

I want to understand why everyone is saying he is a homerun hire. To me he hasn't done anything to say he is a good coach. But sell me on his resume. That's right no one can.

All I needed to hear from his defensive philosopby, "absolutely no threes on the closeouts."

That's it. All I needed to know.

no 3s on the closeouts

He has done nothing in his coaching profession. Nothing but but but he is a HOMERUN HIRE. lol you people are retarded
You're a puddle of fun aren't ya. Let's remember Johnny Jones came in with 2 ncaa tournament bids over 11 years with North Texas. This is a great hire considering pretty much every other hire Alleva has made.

I'm worried too but what does that do for us now? He's won games his teams play hard you really can't knock his Xs and Os too much. Did he win enough for everyone to be comfortable with? No did he advance enough in march? No. But he hasn't had a dip in performance he's young plays a good style and the main reason he was hired, he's the cheapest of the candidates. The only serious question is recruiting so let's give him a chance. He wasn't my first choice either but he's the coach I'm gonna support him all the way and we know one thing is certain. He's light years better than what we just had.

His youth is a risk and inexperience are a risk but you can't say he's done nothing. His resume isn't much different than Mike White.

Go look at Coach K's resume before Duke, Brad Stevens resume before Butler, Bobby Knights resume before Indiana, and Billy Donovan's resume before Florida. Do that and then tell me what on their resumes is substantively more impressive than what Wade has.

It's a risk for sure. But he fits the profile of guys who've gone on to be huge successes.

He was cheaper than Crean but tough to say he was the cheapest of all the names thrown around.

Look at it like this and I said we needed to do this months ago, Saban had not yet merited the salary we gave him then considering it made him a top 3 paid coach in the country. But we had to pay a premium to show our commitment to finally playing with the big boys. Now granted Saban was much more accomplished than Wade is currently but the idea is similar.

Well I omitted Davis I heard he was being extended hed've been cheaper and Beard probly too I just didn't see them as possibilities. I could be wrong, but knowing the Queen and Alleva I'd bet not all my money but most that Wade was the cheapest out of our present targets.

Look at it this way if you're right and we are headed where you say then it won't be long until a house cleaning comes. I'm talking Michael Corleone type stuff from top to bottom. Then it'll be a reboot.

You posted in 2 bball game threads, so why do you even care?

Your last posts in an LSU game thread (or relating to LSU basketball at all) were in January.

You're being mighty critical of Wade's resume for someone who loved and celebrated the Coach O hire on the Coaching Changes board.

Wade is like a 60 year old dude in a 30 year old body.

Kinda reminds me of les miles with some quotes of his.

Crean's asking price tells me he thought this job was beneath him. I just question the motivation of a guy that just lost his dream job. It could motivate him or complaceny sets in and he robs LSU of 3mil a year as he gives the bare minimum. Recruiting also seems to be a bit of a question mark.

There was no perfect candidate.
